It’s time to return to Atlantis as the first trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has arrived online. The film stars Jason Momoa reprising his role as Aquaman/Arthur Curry for the fifth time. Patrick Wilson as Orm, Yaya Abdul Mateen II as the villainous Black Manta, Amber Heard as Mera, and Nicole Kidman as Atlanta also star. The script is written by David Leslie Johnson Mcgoldrick, Thomas Pa’Siebert James Wan and Momoa himself. Wan returns to helm this sequel which is said to be a buddy movie with Orm and Aquaman. You can check out the trailer below.
Anchored by a narration by Momoa’s Aquaman, we get a glimpse at where our hero is now. Husband, father and King of Atlantis. While he seems a bit overwhelmed his father has his back, though he admits his job was much more complicated. As Aquaman proclaims not everyone likes him we get our first look at the returning black manta who wants revenge on our hero. From there we are introduced to the black trident which had given former king atlan a lot of trouble back in the day. Aquaman goes to his brother Orm for help and the adventure begins.
The trailer was fantastic in conveying the ambiance of Atlantis and rekindling the excitement for the upcoming movie. The narration suggests that Arthur is struggling to cope with his duties, but remains steadfast in his heroism, much to Orm’s displeasure, as indicated in the trailer. Overall, it was an excellent trailer that sets the tone for the upcoming film.
After much anticipation, the moment we’ve been waiting for is finally approaching. The highly-awaited movie premiere is scheduled to take place on December 20th. We can only hope that the film lives up to the immense hype that has been building for so long.
