Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. announced DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO during The Game Awards. This groundbreaking release marks the return of the DRAGON BALL Z: BUDOKAI TENKAICHI series after a hiatus of several years. The debut trailer, featuring in-game footage, unveiled a visually stunning and faithful continuation of the BUDOKAI TENKAICHI series, faithfully recreating legendary characters and their unique abilities as they engage in epic battles on expansive and destructible fighting arenas.
DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO is set to launch exclusively on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam®, promising an extraordinary gaming experience. Developed by Spike Chunsoft, the creators of the original BUDOKAI TENKAICHI series, the game propels the series into a new era by harnessing the power of Unreal Engine 5. This move not only enhances the visual spectacle but also pushes the boundaries of gameplay and features in the arena brawler genre. The title also pays homage to the original Japanese naming convention, adopting the name DRAGON BALL Z: Sparking!, reminiscent of the legendary DRAGON BALL Z: BUDOKAI TENKAICHI.
