Coming off the success of their most recent release of the Company of Heroes Collection, Feral Interactive has announced the release date of Hitman: Blood Money-Reprisal for the Nintendo Switch. The game was teased during the Nintendo Direct of 2023. Hitman: Blood Money-Reprisal will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch e-shop on Thursday, January 25th, 2024. With the release date announcement, the game is now available for pre-order with a 15% discount.
Hitman makes a comeback
The news comes straight from Feral Interactive. Hitman: Blood Money-Reprisal brings the 2006 stealth action classic to the Nintendo Switch. The team has worked hard to do justice to the critically and commercially successful installment of the Hitman franchise. The press release teases a new, updated control scheme, as well as “new gameplay options that enhance the experience for modern players.”
Hitman: Blood Money-Reprisal puts players into the sharp shoes and sharper suit of Agent 47. Agent 47 is tasked with taking down The Franchise, a rival contract-killing organization. Through 12 highly-replayable sandbox-style missions, players infiltrate the environment and use every means necessary to eliminate their target silently, as if they were never there. Players don disguises, use a variety of high-tech weapons, and master melee tools to strike their target when they least expect. it. Hitman: Blood Money-Reprisal is loaded with new optional features. This includes an Instinct Mode and a Warning System that gives players a layout of the game world.
Sinking its teeth into the Switch
Feral Interactive has had two knockout successes preceding this release. In 2019, the studio released Alien: Isolation for the Nintendo Switch, porting the game’s PC version to the infamous handheld. The result was shocking as the presentational and technical qualities were remarkably sound for a game featured as one for the very first during the 7th generation console cycle.
Feral Interactive followed this up with the 2023 release of the Company of Heroes Collection for Switch, porting the acclaimed title with all DLC expansions included. This was another huge success as the port was met with excellent quality if a bit dated given the game was originally released in 2006. The Company of Heroes Collection included newly refined controls and interfaces that work remarkably well with the context of the game and the player.
Hitman: Blood Money-Reprisal is certainly another amazing opportunity to play a classic title, but what the studio does with this port is remarkably ambitious. We won’t have to wait too long to revisit Agent 47’s earlier days as a prolific assassin.
Hitman: Blood Money-Reprisal launches January 25th, 2024 for $29.99. Pre-orders receive a 15% discount.
