Winter Survival, a story-driven sandbox survival game from DRAGO Entertainment, has delayed the Steam Early Access release to March 6th, 2024 in order to make changes after player feedback during Steam Next Fest. While the core of the game will remain unchanged, additional difficulty options will let players fine-tune the challenge to their preference. Wolves’ behavior will see reworks for a more rewarding gameplay experience.

In Winter Survival, players are forced to survive a frigid wilderness, using skill and wit as an inexperienced outdoorsman to brave the elements, battle blood-thirsty predators, and find a way to return to society. As is the case with most survival games, players will scavenge for materials to craft tools, shelter, clothing, campfires, and more. The use of impromptu weapons will be essential to hunt wildlife or defend against packs of wolves and other predators. Utilizing stealth and traps can also be useful to avoid dangerous situations and escape to fight another day.

Creatures aren’t the only thing to be conscious of though. Stress can compound due to isolation, and survivors will need to be mindful of starvation and freezing temperatures. Maintaining sanity while facing the unknown will be crucial, otherwise, nightmarish hallucinations may start to creep in. The goal of the Winter Survival story mode is to search for a path to civilization while discovering the secrets of an abandoned town, Coldwave Mode offers an escalating challenge of a freezing winter, and survive as long as possible in Endless Mode.

I've been gaming for as long as a can remember. While I'm primarily interested in cinematic story driven games, I do believe the heart of the industry is the indie game. Other than games, I'm passionate about soccer, occasionally stream on Twitch, and I'm in school for Web Development.
