The cast for the First Family of Marvel has been officially announced. While Jeff Sneider of the hot mic initially reported it, Deadline has confirmed that Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss Bacharach will play Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm, respectively.
The movie will be directed by Matt Shakman, who previously directed Wandavision, based on a script by Jeff Kaplan, Ian Springer, and Josh Friedman, who worked on Avatar 2. The release date of the reboot has been pushed back to July 2025, swapping dates with the ThunderBolts. This means that the film will be released in the same month as DC’s Superman Legacy. You can also check out some artwork for Marvel’s reboot below, which may give you some clues about the plot of the film:
Pascal has been having a successful run in Hollywood since his breakout performance as Oberyn Martell on Game of Thrones. He has since appeared in various popular films and TV series, including Narcos, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and Wonder Woman 1984. Most recently, he played the role of Joel in HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us. Interestingly, Adam Driver was initially considered for the same role. Vanessa Kirby has had memorable performances in action films like Hobbs and Shaw and the Mission Impossible franchise. Other actresses considered for the role were Emma Stone and Mila Kunis. Joseph Quinn is most known for his role in Stranger Things as fan favorite Eddie Munson. Ebon Moss Bacharach rose to prominence in the awards favorite The Bear.
Hearing about this cast for the last several months, I’d gotten used to the idea that this could be our four, and now that it’s official, I’m delighted with this cast. Hopefully, we’ll get to hear more about what Marvel has in store for us soon
