Splatoon 3: Expansion Pass – Side Order DLC Coming Feb. 22

splatoon 3 side order boss battle

If you’re a resident of Inkopolis, I’m sure you love making your town colorful and lively. Well, get ready to take that spirit to the next level! In the Splatoon 3 single-player DLC Side Order, you’ll need to climb the Spire of Order and brighten up the whole world. And don’t worry if you’ve already played the first wave of content in the Expansion Pass, because this is the second wave of awesomeness! Are you excited? I am!

In Side Order, you will play as Agent 8, a resident of Inkopolis who wakes up in a new “world of order,” where color seems to be missing and it’s their mission to bring it back. Alongside a drone named Pearl, Agent 8 must battle to the top of the Spire of Order against hordes of surprising enemies and obstacles.

Each floor of the spire has unique objectives that change each time you make an attempt, and as you might expect, they get more difficult the higher you climb. Objectives include defeating enemies, securing specific areas for a set amount of time, and overcoming other challenges. You can use color chips you receive to customize your Palette to your liking with enhancements such as increased firing speed,  increased damage, and more. If you fail to reach the top, you’ll have to start over. Don’t worry though, the color chips you collect will be converted into a currency that can be exchanged for permanent upgrades which can give you a fighting chance on subsequent attempts.

Like most rogue-likes, Side Order is designed to be replayed over and over and offers exciting challenges for newcomers and veteran players alike. This replay-ability will help sharpen your skills for Splatoon 3’s “Fresh Season” launching on March 1st. The season brings new multiplayer stages such as the “Marlin Airtport” battle stage and the “Bonerattle Arena” Salmon Run stage. New weapons like brella and dualies variants, as well as new items like the Fizzbang can be used during Splatfests.

Splatoon 3 is available now on Nintendo Switch, and you can purchase the Expansion Pass ahead of the February 22nd release of Side Order on the Nintendo Store.

I've been gaming for as long as a can remember. While I'm primarily interested in cinematic story driven games, I do believe the heart of the industry is the indie game. Other than games, I'm passionate about soccer, occasionally stream on Twitch, and I'm in school for Web Development.
