Announced yesterday, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League launches as part of the Deluxe Edition on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). The Standard Edition will be launching worldwide on February 2nd.
Suicide Squad, which is developed by Rocksteady Studios, creators of the acclaimed Batman: Arkham series, combines a character-driven story with enhanced traversal mechanics and action-packed combat, allowing you to play solo or team up with up to four players online.
Set in Metropolis, Suicide Squad picks up canonically five years after the events of Batman: Arkham Knight as players take on the roles of DC Super-Villains Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark. As you would expect, under the threat of death, these villains are tasked with defeating the Justice League heroes who have been corrupted by Brainiac. On the hit list is Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, and The Flash. Throughout the game, players will be able to enlist the help of other allies, namely other villains in the DC Universe, to help them with their mission.
In addition to each member having their own unique set of moves, there is also a deep character-progression system that will allow for load-outs to be tailored to your playstyle through weapons, gear, and ability upgrades. Rocksteady also announced the game will offer post-launch seasonal content in the form of new playable characters, missions, gear, weapons, in-game events, and more, all offered at no extra cost. On that note, there will be “seasons” which will each be themed after a different DC character. Starting March 1, 2024, Season 1 will feature The Joker in a twist of the iconic villain. Later this year, Rocksteady will also be adding an offline story mode to the game giving players the option to experience the main campaign without an internet connection.
