Long awaited Switch port of Kingdom Come Deliverance launches March 15th, 2024

It’s been a long journey but that journey is finally coming to an end. The 2018 award-winning adventure RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance is finally arriving to the Nintendo Switch in March. The port was announced on June 10th, 2021. After several years of working o get the large and ambitious game onto the Switch platform, Saber Interactive and Warhorse Studios are set to deliver one of the most historically accurate RPGs to the Nintendo Switch.

Sword and Shield

The announcement came briefly during the Nintendo Partner Direct of February 21st, 2024. Details soon revealed that Saber Interactive went all in on providing the port with all the features of its bigger console versions. Kingdom Come Deliverance arrives on the Switch as the Royal Edition. This port, which will be available digitally and physically, includes the complete game. Accompanying the launch are all DLC expansions, including Treasures of the Past, Form the Ashes, the Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon, Band of Bastards, and A Woman’s Lot. This makes for well over 100 hours of gameplay.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance puts players in the shoes of Henry. Son of a blacksmith, the land rages with civil war, destroying all in its path. In one unfortunate attack, Henry’s family and friends are slain, with Henry narrowly escaping. Thrust on a quest for vengeance, Henry seeks to avenge his family and destroy the invaders. Henry will set upon a land pulled straight from the history books. This is a world with vast fields, lush forests, and towering castles. There are no mystical forces or magical beasts. In Kingdom Come Deliverance, players call upon their steel and their wit to smite enemies and conquer obstacles. With a large open world, non-linear story, challenging combat, and a dynamic environment to explore, Kingdom Come Deliverance is set to be an amazing release and one of the last big releases for the Nintendo Switch.

Another new Adventure

Kingdom Come: Deliverance was met with solid praise and acclaim. The game is by no means a real-life medieval simulator but it is a refreshing take on the genre. One first thought of a medieval game boils down to a fantasy adventure such as The Witcher III or Shadow of Mordor. Kingdom Come Deliverance is still a game, but certain aspects are taken into consideration, such as hunger and sleep. There is also a deep skill tree and meaningful story mechanics that make every choice impactful. Saber Interactive has been known for its port work to the Nintendo Switch. Other ports from other studios have not been so fortunate, namely Arkham Knight from the recently released Arkham Asylum collection. We won’t have to wait long to see how Kingdom Come: Deliverance comes out after all these years.
