Robots, lasers, and missiles, oh my. Ziggurat and Inin games are at it again with another remaster of a classic game. Coming from the depths is X-Out: Resurfaced, a title that has remained under the surface for over 20 years until now.
The Power of the Seas
The year was 1990. The age of the Commodore, Amiga, and Atari were coming to an end. The C64 and Atari ST were being pushed aside in score of Nintendo’s NES and Sega’s Master System. There were a few surprises, one of them being the original X-Out. X-Out soon became a legend in the shmup community for how different it was in comparison to the competition.
Aliens are attempting to take over the Earth from the bottom of the sea. Already, they’re experimenting with wildlife, turning hens into bio-weapons. Players take their ship head-on to fight the alien threat, upgrading their ship as they go along. Composer Chris Huelsbeck provides a thumping soundtrack that is perfect for the occasion.
