May is, appropriately, National Military Appreciation Month. What’s that have to do with gaming? Aside from the obvious military tie-ins of game franchises such as Call of Duty, Battlefield, and even Mass Effect and Doom, there’s the simple fact that a lot of military folks are gamers. Gaming has also become a valuable tool for people coming back from deployment to use as a way of deal...[Read More]
It wasn’t until the third run in Curious Expedition that I realized how much I disliked Charles Darwin. I’d managed to stay neck-and-neck with him through two expeditions as Ada Lovelace, but my third expedition had been an utter disaster. Spend a significant amount of time at any PAX event, and you will eventually encounter some folks wearing red shirts with the words “Stack-Up” emblazoned on the front. The ‘U’, stylized like a flashbang is an unmistakable logo. This year, I had the chance to chat with Stack-Up.org’s founder, Captain Stephen Machuga, US Army (ret) about the story of Stack-Up, their founding, and their mission going...[Read More]

Since then, the rest of the series ha...[Read More]

Ah monster trucks. They’re big, loud, brash, and as uniquely American as football or NASCAR racing. It’s also a genre of motorsports which hasn’t seen a dedicated game devoted to its greatness in a decade.
