I love rhythm games. As a drummer from middle school to the present, I incorporated rhythm games in my game rotation in some shape or form to help me understand rhythmic patterns and concepts. My main game is Rock Band on Expert (of which I own the longest videogame marathon on Rock Band Guinness World Record – 27 hrs, 45 min, 20 sec), and yes I love to play the drums. No this is not a humbl...[Read More]
Too often do we see negativity in the video game industry. These can either be feuds between rival companies, studios closing down with no notice, and also the horrifying Bowsette fiasco that Nintendo is dealing with. *shudders* However, today we at Marooners’ Rock want to recognize one company that has captured many people’s hearts in the past couple of months (this includes our editor Andrew whe...[Read More]

Unless you have been living under a rock, you more than likely have heard of GUNNAR glasses. What most people think of when they hear this name is professional gamers who want to get an upper edge on their competition. Even worse, people think of a cheap fad that is meant to exploit kids who think these glasses are meant to improve their Call of Duty matches with their friends. What gets overlooke...[Read More]
The Sega Dreamcast, although it was a flop, did have so many bright moments. Say what you want, but that is where Sonic games truly shined in my opinion. Yes, they are dated and at times ridiculous, but Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 are both classics in my book. Part of this is because of how wonderful the music was; whether it was from the opening hooks of Open Your Heart, to the greatest opening lev...[Read More]
‘Tis the season for gifts! Many companies are starting their pre-Black Friday sales, gearing up for Black Friday, or even just annual Winter Sales. Ubisoft wanted to jump into the Holiday spirit early and strong. While they could have done a game giveaway, or a holiday event, Ubisoft wanted to up the ante.
Last year, I wrote about an oddly satisfying hybrid of a game that I never thought imaginable: a rhythm rpg, or a RRPG if you will. The Metronomicon is now getting a console version with The Metronomicon: Slay the Dance Floor. While it is just a port to the consoles, Puuba made sure to add a couple of perks to the mix to make it worthwhile. The important question: How does it stack up?
Ah. I love games that let you live out your deepest desires. I mean, who doesn’t want to have their junk wiggle around the floor to dock other genitals and become the best penis around? Okay, maybe not, but either way, Freelives has you covered with Genital Jousting. The game has been out for close to a year now, and to celebrate an art competition was held. The winners have been announced!
That’s right! It’s Pickle Riiiiiick! I’ve barely seen Rick and Morty, and even I know this reference. Rick turns gets himself into a pickle to avoid counseling, literally. With how much of a ruckus this has made in nerd culture, it was only a matter of time before he got immortalized in plastic form.
For those of you out there that love horror endeavors as much as you love gaming, I am sure you’ve seen Dead by Daylight. The asymmetric title developed by Behavior Interactive has been scaring the daylights out of survivors since June of last year. To keep fans happy for the past year, a slew of free and paid DLC has been released, adding maps, characters, and most importantly killers. Shhhhhh. T...[Read More]
If you haven’t heard me rant about how much I love The Metronomicon, then you must not be listening hard. With it being a rhythm RPG with a ridiculous soundtrack, who couldn’t love it if you enjoy music games? The in depth rhythm slasher has been making its way to console for a few months now, but today we get a schmexy new trailer and a release date! AND THERE WAS MUCH DANCING.
