I’m typically a sucker for a game with a great story, and Remedy Entertainment is a company that never ceases to deliver when it comes to making great games with deep atmospheres and compelling stories. Alan Wake was a strong entry for the studio, while Quantum Break is possibly the best TV show I’ve ever seen. When I heard that Remedy was planning to do a Twin Peaks inspired thriller ...[Read More]
One of the cooler little games shown during Microsoft’s E3 press conference was a vibrant little RPG named Cris Tales which promises to be a love letter to JRPGs from all eras. I wanted to know more about it as the video looked neat, but I needed to get my hands on it, so I downloaded the demo from Steam.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was released on March 22nd, 2019 – so why did I hold the review for this long? For me, Sekiro had a lot of stuff going on with it and it deserved proper time to not only fully explore, conquer, and master, but it also ate up a shit load of my time.
What the fuck kind of name is this even? Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late[st] is not only a mouthful to say, but it’s confusing and terrible to even think about. The FGC (Fighting Game Community) has lovingly nicknamed this game UNIST (which I will be using to refer to the name of this game from this point forward), because it’s not only easier to say but is far less obscene to look at w...[Read More]
The launch trailer for my most anticipated game of 2019 is finally here. As a guy who loves Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Nioh, mixing these worlds with a hint of Tenchu thrown in the mix for good measure hits every checkbox I might ever want in a video game. If the game happens to wind up even as remotely good as this launch trailer looks, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will definitely be my Game of th...[Read More]
Are you hyped for The Division 2? Do you have an Amazon Alexa enabled device? Well then, all you’ve gotta do is say “Alexa, open The Division Network” and you’ll be treated to some cool audio logs that detail the events of what happened between The Division and its sequel.
Back in 2008, the Xbox 360 wasn’t exactly a haven for RPG games – and it damn sure wasn’t flooded with JRPG games likely due to how badly the Xbox 360 sold in Japan. Because Microsoft’s Xbox 360 released before the PlayStation 3 did, Namco decided to bank on the popularity of the new console in the West and development started in 2005. Alongside other quality JRPG titles on...[Read More]
It’s not exactly a secret that Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is widely regarded as one of (if not the) greatest Castlevania games of all time. Seeing that the current era has been desperately chomping at the bit for a new Castlevania, and Capcom has seen some pretty big success re-releasing Megaman and it seems only fitting that we’d finally start seeing some HD re-releases of the...[Read More]
Valve just sent out a press release letting people know that those who have beta keys for their highly anticipated (is it though?) card game known as Artifact can now redeem their keys and start playing. Anyone who has access to this beta can play all modes of the came until the release date on November 28th. I’m sure there’s a market out there amongst Valve fanboys for some alternativ...[Read More]
There’s something magically captivating about Diablo. While it wasn’t the first dungeon crawler, isometric, action RPG, nor is this even in the first wave of releases of Diablo III, the idea of having a fully functional version of Diablo III with me at all times was one of the greatest announcements I’d heard all year. I’m not into Rockstar’s games, and other than the...[Read More]
As a long time Soul Calibur fan, I have to admit that I’ve been extremely disappointed in the franchise ever since the the abomination known as Soul Calibur V released. While I was stupidly hyped that Ezio was a guest in SCV (along with that sick remix of Venice Rooftops) the rest of the cast was replaced with descendants or children who were cheap imitations of the originals, which made the...[Read More]
Four adventurers gear up in what promises to be a thrilling spelunking fest through ancient ruins and underground caverns, all while being mocked by a plucky British narrator. Is this another Lara Croft and the whatever of something or other? Nope, it’s the Strange Brigade!
