It’s been three years since the events at Beacon Mental Hospital and Sebastian Castellanos still hasn’t fully recovered. I game and travel—A LOT. I also stream, host events, and (if I can’t sleep) game in bed. So, it’s important to me have a headset that is comfortable, reliable, and produces high quality sound so I can hear everything going on in my games. The HyperX Cloud Alpha Pro Gaming Headset was released at the end of September, but before it was, I got a hands-on—or rather, head-on—preview of it. I can tell ...[Read More]
Anyone that knows me knows that I have been all about Cuphead since its debut in 2014. I grew up watching Disney, Max Fleischer, Ub Iwerks, and more. If some of those names don’t ring a bell, that is okay. You don’t have to recognize those names to understand that Cuphead’s aesthetic borrows heavily from those creative geniuses and the cartoons of the 1930s.
I am a HUGE Rock Band fan. In fact I have over 700 songs in my current Rock Band 4 library. I host Rock Band Parties once a month. Heck even my Wife and I run a charity stream called Rock Band 4 Charity.
Horror games are all the rage. Whether its zombies, serial killers, the unexplained, or mystical, horror content will always be available as long as the public keeps buying it. It’s why we had to sit through seven SAW movies after all. Little Nightmares was sold to me on the basis that it preys on childhood fears. Maybe my childhood was different from an average kid, but I didn’t find anything abo...[Read More]
We are living in an age where our current generation of video game consoles are seeing a great resurgence of classic titles. While some “remastered” versions of games are just PC ports of classic games, Voodoo Vince Remastered is a game whose development team took great care in ensuring that old fans and new players would have the best experience.
It’s been a little over a week since I finished my playthrough of Paper Seven’s Blackwood Crossing and I am still not okay. I apologize to my editors now, because a standard review of this game won’t do it justice. If I laid out all the technical aspects of Blackwood Crossing and scored based on our typical review guidelines, it would score lower than I want it to. So, to my editors and readers, p...[Read More]
In recent years there has been a wave of new games that are preying on the sense of nostalgia. 8-bit graphics, retro difficulty, throwbacks and references to your youth are plentiful. While the indie game scene has had some gems, there hasn’t been a game that truly captures the nostalgic feel of a bygone era. Yooka-Laylee seeks to find its place as the successor to those past games.
Lego games have always been a staple of gaming in my house. They are so popular that my wife got her mom playing them. She’s much more thorough than I am. She has no problem attempting to get that 100% in a Lego Game. Me? I just don’t have the time. That being said there are games that have come out that I don’t need to dedicate a bunch of time to if I don’t want to. Minecraft is a great example o...[Read More]
If you’re an old-school Xbox player like I am then you remember Voodoo Vince. The lovable voodoo doll who put his own body on the line when he needed to. When the announcement that Voodoo Vince was getting a remastered version I was thrilled! A lot of people never got to experience Vince’s puzzle-platforming antics from the original Xbox. Well that time has come.
It’s no secret that I love horror. Movies, games, TV shows, all of it. I have played every Silent Hill game, every Resident Evil game, and everything else that has come and gone. In this modern age of third person and first person horror games we have been given an amazing gift in Uncanny Valley by the Cowardly Creations development team.
