While I haven’t reached the level of Metroidvania academics as others that create video game content and essays, I do consider myself versed well enough in the genre to confidently talk with those experts. Since the announcement of the official Metroid 2 remake, Samus Returns, I knew I had to at least ask the creators of AM2R to be guests on the Forever Classic Podcast. Join Zach Snyder and ...[Read More]
While I missed out on traveling to Seattle for PAX West, I did get an awesome gesture by being given access to the King of Cards demo that was being played there. It’s the pleasure of the newest experiences in gaming from the comfort of my home!
Confession time! I have a problem. I am hopelessly addicted to the purchasing of Amiibo, the wonderfully designed Nintendo figures that unlock things in various games. Amiibo are literally what I’ve always wanted as a child, a high-quality Nintendo figure that I could display proudly; the fact they unlock things is just icing on the cake. Out of the hundred or so Amiibo I have, Shovel Knight...[Read More]
Nintendo wrapped up all of E3’s 2017 press conferences this past Tuesday and in the process, made some pretty big game announcements. As per usual, Nintendo touched on a variety of topics during their spotlight presentation. This included updates on several already-announced titles and then the official announcements for brand new titles such as a Pokémon RPG and Metroid Prime 4, both of which are...[Read More]
Just when I was getting ready to go to a different stream, Reggie Fils-Aime comes on stage at the Nintendo Treehouse and shakes what I knew about Nintendo outside of their Direct videos. A new 2D Metroid game has just been announced, ironically enough as a remake of Metroid 2: Return of Samus that recently got a fan remake. Metroid: Samus Returns is headed to the Nintendo 3DS this September.
Atlus continues to surprise me as they’ve been making hit after hit for many years, many of which go on to become rare oddities and obscure gems. Even though the Switch is starting to get its bearings, Atlus won’t let the 3DS go just yet as they’ve officially announced three games on the way. All three are role-playing games, each with their signature Atuls style. Plus this is th...[Read More]
The recent Pokémon Nintendo Direct revealed to the world that Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon will be arriving on the Nintendo 3DS on November 17th, 2017. In addition, Pokémon Gold & Silver will be launching on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console on September 22nd, 2017, the same day as Pokkén Tournament DX, which will be on the Switch.
Today’s Nintendo Direct came as a bit of a surprise. With a majority of the announcement focusing on Splatoon 2 and ARMS, it seemed like this Direct would be a bit dull or at the least predictable. However, plenty of other smaller, often more exciting tidbits were revealed including some new games from NIS America. Disgaea 5 Complete is headed to Nintendo Switch later this year. While Culdce...[Read More]
Sure sure, the Nintendo Switch and Breath of the Wild have been dominating the times of Nintendo fans here of late. However, the Pokemon Company have just released a teaser for why we should dust off our 3DS systems and jump back into Pokemon Sun and Moon. Even though hackers have known about this new Pokemon for a while, we finally have an official announcement about Marshadow.

Let’s check out Nintendo’s Black Friday deals in a summary list they shared via press rele...[Read More]
Every now and again I find these wild independent films that are awesome, sometimes creating a better look at the property than other major studios. However, what EmberLab and their associates have done with Majora’s Mask is unreal, breathtaking, and proof that video game films can be worthwhile. All Legend of Zelda fans need to see this, so without further ado, enjoy Majora’s Mask ...[Read More]
