Here are five awesome new things in Monster Hun...[Read More]

Goichi Suda “SUDA 51” PAX West 2017 Interview

Though I had an amazing time overall at PAX West 2017, there were a few stand out moments. This is one of them. I had the privilege to sit down with Goichi Suda, also known as Suda 51 and for his unique design style in games like No More Heroes 1 and 2, Let It Die, and Lollipop Chainsaw. He is revisiting the No More Heroes series and Travis Touchdown with Travis Strikes Again, which is currently i...[Read More]

Cyber Sleuth – How Gameplay Impacts an RPG

During my moving trip from West Virginia to Alaska (more on that story later) by truck, I was given a lot of downtime to just hang out and play some games that I haven’t got to sink much time into. Pulling out my Vita, I flopped between Axiom Verge, a Metroid-style game that I reviewed a while back, and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth. After a few hours of wandering about in the world of Digimon...[Read More]

Gameumentary Arrives on Kickstarter

Gaming history has always been a pursuit for me, whether its looking up old interviews, past advertisements, or reviews from long gone publications. In the past couple years though, I’ve discovered a new way to fuel my hunger for video game history, documentaries. While there are already some excellent productions out there, many of which I have covered before, I was delighted to find Gameum...[Read More]

Why I’m Excited For Metroid: Samus Returns

I’m going to start out and say it, I’ve never been a fan of the Metroid series.  The games are long and confusing to navigate, and did I mention, hard? Yeah, not a huge fan of playing Metroid games, and Metroid: Samus Returns may change my mind.

Devolver Digital Parodies E3 Conferences

The Electronic Entertainment Expo has been a part of my life since I was in my teens, spending hours of my summer watching the action on Tech TV/G4. It has always been an event where I gather up my friends and we just absorb everything the industry has to offer. Over the years though, especially with me now being able to examine the game industry with more accuracy, I’ve noticed a shift away...[Read More]

Licensed Games are Getting Better

Throughout my early gaming days, anything made from a movie, comic book, or otherwise popular franchise outside of gaming was usually a recipe for disaster. However, there has been a recent upswing in quality with titles made with intellectual licenses. Sure, its still not perfect, but licensed games are getting better.

Disney Supposedly had Artists make Capcom Roster Ugly

There has been a few complaints flying around the internet about the weird looking character models in Marvel VS Capcom Infinite, a sequel to a game with extremely stylish presentation. Originally, I was under the impression these characters would look better in motion. However, a recent post from a supposed ex-employee of Capcom says otherwise on Reddit. Now, before I dive any more into this subj...[Read More]

Assassin’s Creed Origins Looks Awesome

When it comes to the almost annual Assassin’s Creed franchise, I’ve always reserved my excitement. I thought the first game was a phenomenal idea and I even enjoyed Assassin’s Creed 2. However, I lost touch with these games shortly after trying out Brotherhood, finding most of them to be the same song and dance. For many players, this was the case as well. Ubisoft also lost a bun...[Read More]

Powerful Female Characters in EA Announcements

Watching EA Play as the first E3 live event, I noticed something interesting. For a few years now, many major game development studios have received criticism on their lack of female representation. This includes EA themselves, as many were critical of Battlefield 1‘s lack thereof. Conversely, there were plenty of female leads and characters in the games being shown and even on stage.
