Latest Nintendo Direct promises an Autumnal Bounty of Fun

It’s slightly old news by now, but on October 1st Nintendo dumped a truckload of new information on us regarding upcoming Wii U and 3DS. One of the cool things they revealed, besides Princess Peach doing a feline floaty jump, was the new cherry power-up in Super Mario 3D World. When one of the Mario Menagerie grabs this cherry they are duplicated. This will surely add some new and unique gam...[Read More]

Review: Arcane Legends (Android)

I’ve said many times before on my cell phone game reviews, I’ve always enjoyed the Android OS. To me it feels very clean and provides an easy way to get around. There is always a wide selection of games and applications that can be used. That’s only if you set the device up not to drain the battery right away. Anyways, for quite sometime I’ve been playing the game Arcane Le...[Read More]

Review: Call of Juarez: Gunslinger (XBLA)

Like many kids of the 90’s, I watched western movies when I was little. I always loved the idea of being a bounty hunter! To be a good guy and go around collecting or killing people in the name of justice was always a fantasy of my childhood. Bounty hunters seemed to me like superheroes; they always had faster gun skills than the bad guys, had a higher intelligence and fought for justice. At...[Read More]

Batman Month: The Best Batman Games (that don’t have Arkham in the title)

It’s that time of year again. The nights are getting longer, the chill is in the air, the shadows are getting scarier… and that’s the time of the Dark Knight! So, as year 3 of Batman Month begins again, I intend to divulge from my vast knowledge of the Caped Crusader. And to begin, since we’re getting a brand new entry in the popular Arkham game series, we’re going to...[Read More]

Review: Class of Heroes II (Vita)

Sony has taken an interesting track with the Vita. There are precious few new games being launched, but there is certainly a deluge of PSP titles rehashed over the past few months. They are a guilty pleasure of mine though, so I actually enjoy jumping into them, good or bad. Class of Heroes 2 is my latest foray into the back catalogue of PSP RPG’s, and may have cured me of my addiction to them.

Review: Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory (PS3)

I have covered a great many JRPG’s over the years, especially from NIS, and at first glance, Hyperdimension Neptuina Victory looks like the same old retread, and in many ways it is. The audience here is well established, but there are a great many attempts to court a more mainstream audience and prove that there are still surprises to be found in the plots of the genre. And while I give points for...[Read More]

Fanime 2013 Video Round-Up

Fanime 2013 has come and gone, and after much trial and tribulation, the videos from said con are ready to be seen.

Kalypso Media Humble Weekly Bundle

Today starts a new Weekly Bundle over at Humble Bundle. What is it this week? Games published by none other than Kalypso Media. Kalypso Media is known for publishing games such as Dark, Tropico, Jagged Alliance and much more including the upcoming Demonicon that I can’t wait to play. Why can’t I wait to play it? I had hands-on with an early build a year ago, and it was great. Anyways, ...[Read More]

Review: Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate (PS3)

Guilty pleasure games are the hardest ones to review. It’s mainly an issue of trying to figure out if the guilty pleasure is good enough to offset the glaring flaw. This has always been my issue with the Dead or Alive franchise. So, in this game, does it rise above its issues?

Review: Wonderful 101: Wii U

When I was a youngin’, I used to look forward to Saturday mornings from the moment my feet hit the ground on a Sunday. All week long I’d sit around daydreaming of hefty heroes with awesome abilities thwarting vile villains’ dastardly deeds; anxiously awaiting the time when I could sneak out of bed before anyone else in the house and claim the TV as my own for a few hours. Now tha...[Read More]

First Impressions: Wonderful 101: Wii U

Wonderful 101 was one of the games I was most looking forward to in the Wii U’s “launch window”. All early trailers and videos made it look like a game with similar large-scale squadron based gameplay like Pikmin, but with super-powered heroic humans instead of tiny plant critters. Wait, did I just say PikminAND superheroes? Sign me up! I’m a total sucker for mashing together two thing...[Read More]
