For the past 48 hours, I’ve been binging on Chocolatier: Sweet Society by PlayFirst for Facebook. I’m already hooked, and I know that no good can come of this. I know, it was only a couple of weeks ago where I ranted about people playing games on Facebook, but I stayed true to my word and I haven’t been flooding my friends with status updates. Had I chosen to do that, my friends ...[Read More]
So I was browsing around this gaming press site I am a member of, looking for press releases and what not, and all of a sudden I saw this little blurb about a Resident Evil trailer for Nintendo 3DS. Oh reallllllly….. Resident Evil has always been a favorite for me, but they lost me with RE:5. I just wasn’t feeling it, but I think Revelations might be something pretty awesome. The trail...[Read More]
Back in March, I was fortunate enough to grab a code for the Blur multiplayer beta. I tried it out, and enjoyed it immensely, but didn’t play more than a couple of days due to time restraints. Eventually, Blur fell out of my thoughts, and it seemed long forgotten. Forgotten, that is, until yesterday, when Lindsey found this gem. With the opportunity to get a $59.99 game for the low, low ...[Read More]
Now through Tuesday, June 21st, get massive discounts on many Xbox Live Arcade titles. Sadly, we own most of the ones listed so we can’t fully take advantage of this deal, but this is fantastic for those of you who are wanting to expand your XBLA library.
Castlevania is one of those series that has stayed with me since childhood. I can still remember playing Simon’s Quest as a kid, then Symphony of the Night, Aria of Sorrow on my GBA Micro, and Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin on my Nintendo DS. The music, the gameplay, the graphics…It’s all still visible with my mind’s eye. And now, with the Konami E3 announcement of ...[Read More]
From the delightful song during the end credits, to the simple, yet absolutely addictive gameplay, Portal was a true gem. Portal was followed by Portal: Still Alive on Xbox Live Arcade, which contained the full original game, 14 new challenges, and new achievements. Portal 2 was announced earlier this year for release in 2010 (delayed to 2011), and E3 has brought us news and videos.
Earlier this month I talked about the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II Collector’s Edition. Lindsey and I both played Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on PS2 way back in 2008, and while we both enjoyed it, we both thought it was too short, among other small complaints. Overall, however, it was a great Star Wars game. With Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, many of those complaints...[Read More]
The Nintendo E3 Press Conference may be over, but that doesn’t mean the excitement has waned. From the get go, Nintendo blew us away. Reggie Fils-Amie came out to debut a new Zelda game, Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and it got fans really excited. We were originally led to believe that a man named Bill would be the one doing the live demo, since Shigeru Miyamoto, a mad genius, seemed like...[Read More]
So, I was deeply saddened the other night when on Twitter I saw that Maynard James Keenan (TOOL, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer) was performing at the Activision E3 event, for what I can only assume was to help promote Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. If you are unfamiliar with my love for Maynard, please read this post. What really made it worse was when I heard he was performing Queen’s ‘B...[Read More]
And the good news just keeps on coming! Today BioWare announced the next DLC installment for the popular game Dragon Age: Origins. Last month fans were able to play as a Hurlock Vanguard in Darkspawn Chronicles, and now we get to take a peek into Leliana’s past. If you’ve played Dragon Age: Origins, you will know that Leliana used to be quite the naughty girl, and worked for a woman na...[Read More]
I love Civilization. No, not human civilization. Human beings are assholes. I’m talking about the series of games from Sid Meier’s. I remember playing Civilization a bit, being completely engrossed in Civilization II and Civilization III, not having the time to truly immerse myself in Civilization IV, and cracking the fuck out on Civilization: Revolution. Civilization V comes out ...[Read More]
