If you look at my bookshelf… well, you’ll see DVDs, because I don’t keep my books on my bookshelf. If I did keep my books on my bookshelf, and you looked at my bookshelf, you would not see anything remotely resembling Gideon’s War (at its core, an action-thriller novel). You would see fantasy, science-fiction, historical fiction, philosophy, and more in that vein.
If you ask me for my opinion about Alan Moore, I will probably go into a long rant. While I don’t like him as a person, I can’t disagree with his genius as a comic writer. This man does things with setting up panels and what-not that I could never hope to do. And my pick for one of his best stories is also the second entry in Joker Week, The Killing Joke, a tale that looks into the Jok...[Read More]
Happy Valentine's Day! from The Simpsons
The year is 1940. Batman is still relatively new to the comic scene, and Robin had just made his debut. It’s that period where our hero is still in touch with his pulp roots, and the stories are still dark, but slowly getting more to the comics we know. And as far as enemies go, Batman has already faced threats like the Monk and Hugo Strange. But he’s about to meet the greatest enemy h...[Read More]
Oh boy, this is a doozy. In another addition to their Neo Geo Station, SNK releases their classic arcade platformer, Magician Lord. Does it hold up after all this time?

Shrouded Aspect, the first of what will probably be many games in The Pantheon Cycle by Gilligames, is a turn-based RPG for iOS devices. I happen to be a fan of RPG’s, and I do love a good turn-based game (especially Civilization), so I’m having a hard time as to pin-pointing why I couldn’t get into Shrouded Aspect.
Augmented reality games are all the rage these days for iOS devices. We’ve seen the Inception app become a big hit, and there is even a fun Star Wars themed app available right now. Sea Lion Games hopes to tap into that fad with their iOS app, Live Butterflies.
Tropical Slots Deluxe, by Battery Acid Games, is a cute little indie game for iOS devices. While the game costs a mere $0.99, I often wished that it had a bit more oomph.
Last weeks Spartacus episode brought us back to the House of Batiatus, and reunited us with many of the gladiators we’ve grown to love and loathe. In the second episode, titled “Missio,” we go deeper into the Spartacus mythos and see that Quintus is a man who shouldn’t be pissed off.
In the past week, there have been two reviews of SNK’s Neo Geo games for the PlayStation Network. First, we had Ahmed’s review of Fatal Fury. Overall, he felt Fatal Fury was worth your time and money. Then, we had Phillip’s review of Baseball Stars Professional. According to Phillip, Baseball Stars Professional, which was released in 1990, “hasn’t aged well.” I ...[Read More]
