Review: Dragon Ball Z HD Collection (360)

I’m a fan of the Dragon Ball Z franchise, ranging from the anime to the video games. There were a few video games while growing up that I thought were total crap, of course, so I crossed my fingers and hoped that the Dragon Ball Z HD Collection would end up doing well. In the Dragon Ball Z HD Collection, Namco Bandai has released updated versions of two of their classic titles: Dragon Ball Z...[Read More]

Review: Samsung Galaxy SIII

Lately, I’ve been using the Samsung Galaxy SIII thanks to Verizon Wireless. When it comes to smartphones some people look for devices that are low in cost, great battery life, what applications work with it, and many other features. The Samsung Galaxy SIII had many features I liked as I used it for a short time. Now I know you must be thinking what is good and or bad about this smart phone? ...[Read More]

Review: Aria The Scarlet Ammo (Anime)

Lately I’ve been on a huge kick of watching anime that ranges from being dark to ones that will make you laugh or even sad. Heck last night I was watching a series and became sad once I realized a main character got sick and died. I know it’s a bit sad to hear about that but I wasn’t expecting a character from the first season to die a slow death in the second part. Anyways, with...[Read More]

Review: Deadman Wonderland (Anime)

A while back I saw trailers announcing that Deadman Wonderland was coming to DVD. I was extremely excited, and I knew deep down that a copy would eventually make its way into my hands from FUNimation. With that in mind, I skipped it on Cartoon Network’s Toonami, and I’m glad I did, because owning the most badass series to date is pretty awesome. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to th...[Read More]

Review: Steins;Gate Part 1 (Anime)

I’m not really sure what to think when I think of Steins;Gate Part 1. Honestly, just the name of this FUNimation anime title makes me think of some sort of “gate” being opened. Well, I’d consider myself kind of right, if the gate was a gate into the past. Yes, time travel. What if I told you that in this series you can jump timelines via a microwave? I think this was a rand...[Read More]

Review: Strike Witches 2 (Anime)

I’ve said it many times before, but I’m going to say it again: I absolutely love watching anime, whether it’s via Netflix, Hulu, or via Blu-Ray/DVD. In the pile next to me of recently watched anime is Strike Witches 2, the second season of the Strike Witches anime. After watching the first season on Netflix, I was in shock at the open ending, not knowing that a second season was ...[Read More]

Review: NBA 2K13 (360)

I don’t often play sports games, but lately I’ve been playing quite a few, including the most recent NBA release from 2K Sports, NBA 2K13. I’ve noticed that there are a lot of different factors that bring players in to a franchise such as this year after year, such as the team rosters, the soundtrack, and the overall quality of the game. Is NBA 2K13 worthwhile? We’ll see.

Review: Mugen Souls (PS3)

There is a certain expectation that comes with seeing as NIS loge at the opening screen of a game. As the stalwart hold over for traditional Japanese RPG’s, NIS offers a regular injection for those of us with old school sensibilities. Mugen Souls looked to be a fun, turn based romp that would satiate those that crave turn based combat. It was clear it wouldn’t appeal to a massive audience, but it ...[Read More]

Review: Zone of the Enders HD Collection (360)

I find myself in a somewhat contradictory position. I have never played Zone of the Enders or Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner, yet I am a massive fan of mech games and anime series. I’m not sure why I never got around to it, but the recently released Zone of the Enders HD Collection is my first experience with the series at all. That being said, aside from a few bumps that really should h...[Read More]

Review: Skylanders Giants (360)

Just over a year ago, Activision released Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure, which went on to become a certifiable cultural phenomenon. The reason for its success was twofold: a great game that could appeal to both adults and kids alike, and (perhaps more importantly) its interaction with physical collectible toys that monetized the game in an incredible way. To put it plainly, it was a game tha...[Read More]

Review: 007 Legends (360)

Who hasn’t grown up dreaming of one day being a spy? Come on, don’t hide it; we’ve all grown up playing secret agent as a kid. If it wasn’t for James Bond, who would dream about it? Now I’m a huge fan of the 007 franchise, including the movies and a few of the games. Recently, a new entry was released from Eurocom and Activision: 007 Legends. I’ve spent quite so...[Read More]

Review: Assassin’s Creed III (PS3/360)

I’m a massive fan of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. My wife may claim that she’s a bigger fan, but I was a fan first, so nyah nyah to her. I fell in love with Assassin’s Creed while playing as Altair, up until the penultimate battle which will forever be ingrained in my memory as complete and utter bullshit. While I still love the first Assassin’s Creed, I could not ...[Read More]
