It’s that time of year again. The nights are getting longer, the chill is in the air, the shadows are getting scarier… and that’s the time of the Dark Knight! So, as year 3 of Batman Month begins again, I intend to divulge from my vast knowledge of the Caped Crusader. And to begin, since we’re getting a brand new entry in the popular Arkham game series, we’re going to...[Read More]
The Dark Knight Rises, easily one of the most anticipated films of the summer, is now out. So, does it just rise, or does the Dark Knight soar? Before I go any farther, I want to send my condolences out to the victims of the shooting in Colorado. What happened was a cowardly act by a clearly deranged person to people who simply wanted to have a good time at the movies.
I’m hyped up like a madman with every piece of news I get about the next Spider-Man film. That said, I want to clarify that the Sam Raimi-directed Spider-Man trilogy is one of my favorite superhero film sagas, and I’m going to tell you why. As usual, this is just my opinion, and these are not reviews. And remember, there are spoilers ahead.
The sad fact is, DC comics has only one truly popular film character, and it’s Batman. This is not to say that recent efforts involving Superman or Green Lantern weren’t fun or enjoyable. Until things are made official, I’m going to go on a little ramble about several theories I’ve both heard, and thought up on my own.
Well, we now have a villain cast in the upcoming Superman reboot. We also have an official title. And for no extra charge I’m going to tell all you people who are whining about Zod being in the movie why that’s not the proverbial end of the world. I’d say that’s a pretty good haul for one day.
When I first heard that Zack Snyder would be directing the upcoming Nolan-produced Superman flick, I admit I felt a great deal of trepidation. Zack Snyder? Zack “How Slow Can You Go” Snyder? Zack “Slow and Low, that is the tempo” Snyder? Zack “Let’s turn a 1.5 hour movie into a 3 hour movie” Snyder? Zack “Another comment on how he uses an excessive a...[Read More]
I’ve been thinking about this lately. The X-Men film series is screwed. It has been for a while. The first two films, while taking liberty with the vast X-Men universe, were good films in their own right that could be watched by people who have never before read about Sniktbub and his amazing adventures. But with X-Men: The Last Stand, things started going all crap shaped. Too many character...[Read More]
