Show of hands: who hasn’t had the opportunity to play Skyrim yet? If you’re one of the unlucky ones who aren’t able to raise your hand to this question, then you don’t know what you’re missing…or you know exactly what you’re missing, but you just don’t have the money available to not miss it. Either way, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an absolutely f...[Read More]
Every time I see something from Bethesda for their upcoming supernatural/steampunk first-person adventure Dishonored, I get more and more excited. While I’m generally not keen on first-person perspective games since I feel they don’t always provide the same range of peripheral visibility that normal sight offers, I still find myself excited for this one. Bethesda’s latest gamepla...[Read More]
Are you going to QuakeCon 2012? If so the schedule has been announced by Bethesda. Just reading the list featured below there is a lot to do and a lot to check out. Sadly I will not be going but have a few friends who will be able to make it. What will be announced, what will be shown on the floor? That’s for us to find out soon.
With every piece of media that comes out for Bethesda’s upcoming steampunk stealth first-person assassin title Dishonored, I get more and more excited. Granted, I’m not a major fan of first-person perspective in anything (shooters, racers, RPGs), but the mechanics of Dishonored have me interested in spite of the limited perspective offered by a first-person view. In order to emphasize ...[Read More]
Zenimax released the new teaser for the anticipated online version of their popular franchise, The Elder Scrolls. Admittedly, the tease doesn’t show much but take a look for yourself. We get to see a Nord, an Elf, and someone that looks like they could be in the Dark Brotherhood or the Thieves’ Guild, and that’s about it. It’s one of those “blink and you’ll miss...[Read More]
Ahead of E3 looming next week, and with Dishonored’s October 9th release date marching inevitably closer as each day passes, the first gameplay trailer for Bethesda’s first-person action-adventure steampunk-stealth game has been released. Take a look at in-game animation, combat, stealth, and more in this dark and forbidding world.
I’m going to keep this one short and sweet. I’ve put over 120 hours into a single playthrough of Skyrim, and I held out replaying it when the patch hit adding so much fun stuff because I knew that additional play content would be out soon. Well, soon translates to this summer, and additional play content is the already announced Dawnguard add-on. It will be available for 1600MSP on the...[Read More]
I am, for some reason, just now beginning to realize that this is going to be an incredibly busy and time consuming year for me. Adding to the already myriad gaming options I will be faced with over the coming months, Bethesda has given their steampunk sorcery stealth assassin title, Dishonored, a release date of October 9, 2012. It’s smart timing, as far as I’m concerned. Hopefully I ...[Read More]
I’m not entirely sure how I feel about The Elder Scrolls in MMORPG form. My experience with the series, while they only go so far back as some Morrowind and Oblivion with a large serving of Skyrim, has been decidedly solitary. Now, that private, unique world-shaping experience will be opened, and control over your own personal Tamriel is potentially lost. Game Informer has the exclusive cove...[Read More]
A couple of weeks ago, we got our first look at Dishonored, the upcoming first-person steampunk-sorcery assassination title from Bethesda and Arkane Studios. Yesterday, Bethesda released a handful of screenshots for the title, which you can see below. You can also see the original massive batch of screenshots that were made available during the original announcement.
I’m not a huge fan of first person perspective in video games, to be perfectly honest. I like being able to see things from a third person perspective. I like seeing my surroundings and I like seeing potential dangers from all angles. I even played through Skyrim completely in the third person perspective rather than the first person perspective I’m sure most people played. Where even ...[Read More]
Today, along with confirmation that Bethesda is currently “hard at work” putting together the first Xbox 360 wave of new quests, locations, and more, we learned that, sometime this month, we will be receiving a free patch update to Skyrim with some big additions. Well, I suppose you could say one big addition that affects multiple aspects of the game, but either way, voice commands via...[Read More]
