Double Kick Heroes PAX East Preview

If Guitar Hero spawned a side-scrolling arcade shooter about killing zombies with sick guitar riffs, the result would probably come out similarly to Double Kick Heroes, only with guitars instead of drums. However, since killing zombie hordes with machine guns powered by drums is an awesome idea, and crafting a new heavy metal soundtrack to play those drums to is an even more awesome idea, PC gamer...[Read More]

Come Sail Away With Make Sail

It’s an interesting time to be a fan of sailing games. Normally a largely overlooked genre, March has seen the introduction to open beta or Steam Early Access of three vastly different takes on the concept. Make Sail takes an interesting blend of robust vehicle construction, open world exploration, and the vast loneliness of an empty sea to make a game that’s interesting from the moment it hits Ea...[Read More]

Lightspeed Frontier Early Access Hands-On

When I last had a hands-on with Lightspeed Frontier, it was on the crowded show floor of PAX South, where I managed to (mostly) successfully navigate my way through the tutorial under the helpful tutelage of members of the dev team. However, with the game now launched in Steam Early Access, I’m free to spend a lot more time with this open universe/starship builder hybrid.

Bet You Can’t Drive This – Racing With Frenemies

I recently had the opportunity to sample Can’t Drive This, a new cooperative arcade racing game from Pixel Maniacs. Can’t Drive This differentiates itself from other arcade racers by requiring two players to work together. While Player One drives a car in a standard 3rd-person viewpoint, Player Two utilizes a top-down view to lay down the track ahead of their comrade. It’s dynamic, fast-paced, and...[Read More]

That’s where the Jumpers come in, equipped with high tech weaponry, gadgets, and armor.
