343 Industries, known for their juggernaut of a series Halo, and comic powerhouse Dark Horse Comics announced today that they will be partnering up later this year to bring the galactic series to comics in a new anthology set. Excuse me. Halo: Tales from Slipspace is an anthology of new stories and releases this October at your local comic book store and multiple online retailers. Headed by Franch...[Read More]
I hope you Xbox fanboys are ready to do some car soccer, because Psyonix’s Rocket League propelled onto the One this past week. Before this week, I’ve never played it. However, I have put multiple hours into this game and ohmygoditissomuchfun. If you purchase the base game, you will also get the previous DLCs (Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle-Cars, and Chaos Run) at no additional charge. The...[Read More]
343 Industries has taken a lot of flack over the years. I mean, the team practically took over where Bungie left off with Halo, working alongside Microsoft to give the popular sci-fi series a new direction. And I’d like to think that it succeeded, despite a few hiccups.
November 15th can’t come fast enough for us Halo fans. Almost like Master Chief himself was having a homecoming celebration from being lost in space, the original badass comes to the Xbox 360. It’s a tall order to fill, but the new Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary looks absolutely stunning. It’s amazing what a new coat of paint can do for a game, while releasing an HD remake is certainly not groun...[Read More]
Prey 2 is not Prey. It became clear at the Bethesda E3 Prey 2 screening that the portal and gravity mechanics that made up most of the core gameplay of Prey were not returning for the sequel. Instead, we’re given an open world, mission based sandbox shooter. In this spiritual sequel, you are no longer the hunted, like you were in Prey. Prey 2 presents a more empowered character, putting you ...[Read More]
I stopped by the store today to pick up a copy of the Resistance 3 demo for the wonderfully low price of 18 bucks. They even threw in a copy of Battle: Los Angeles, which was a nice perk. After finishing my third run through the demo, I came to a realization. In the battle for alien themed, console specific series, Resistance is far and away better than the often trumped up Halo, and as a public s...[Read More]
Microsoft announced “Halo 4” at their press conference June 6 at E3, nearly nine months after “Halo: Reach” launched on the 360. The minute-and-a-half trailer left more questions than answers themselves. Among those questions one in particular begs to be asked: is Microsoft trying to salvage their first real mascot from the figurative grave?
Nintendo did their thing, a new console was shown and my body was ready for it. Was yours? What did you think about what Nintendo is dishing out? More importantly, does this newest development make you want to sink some money into Nintendo once again?
I am both blessed and cursed with a wife who enjoys video games as much as I do. I am blessed, because she is my enabler. I don’t have to justify buying video games, consoles, or other electronics to her, because she understands the compulsion, and revels in it. I am cursed, because we only have one gaming setup, which means that we must learn to share time with our games. As only children, ...[Read More]

They’re everywhere. Resident Evil 5, Saw 7, and Shock Value 2. When is enough, enough? When will the entertainment industry stop recycling the same things over and over again? As customers, we deserve better.
After participating in the multi-player beta for Halo: Reach, I wanted nothing with the game. Now, thanks to the song “Mind Heist” from the Inception trailers, and the awesomeness of Transcendence Films, I want to play Reach right this second.
