While Thom and I have been podcasting together for the last few months, and Lindsey and I podcasted together last week, Episode 038 of Marooners’ Talk, “Are You There Adam? It’s Us, Marooners’ Talk” is the first time since E3 2011 that Thom, Lindsey, and I have all podcasted together. Thom reminds Lindsey that he told her to play Mass Effect 2 a year ago, Lindsey wond...[Read More]
After completing Mass Effect 3 a total of four times on two platforms, countless hours of multiplayer, and numerous podcasts covering the story and controversies around it, I still don’t know if I’m ready to talk about the game. My career with Mass Effect as a series has meant completion of every game on both Xbox 360 and again on PS3, reading comic books and novels, and pulling everyone I could i...[Read More]
Marooners’ Rock has reached Episode 020, titled, “The Not Mass Effect Episode.” Despite its name, there is actually a great deal of Mass Effect discussion that takes place in this episode. That being said, there are also a great deal of spoilers for those who have not played Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, or Mass Effect 3. As soon as we came up with the podcast title for this week’s episode, I had a sudden urge for a sandwich. I could have asked my wife to make one for me, but I am particularly averse to getting slapped in the back of the head. “Stop Playing Tekken and Make Me A Sandwich” marks Episode 019 of Marooners’ Talk. I was doing a good job of avoiding the demo too, until news came out that the PC version was available for download and my resolve disappeared. Less than an hour later I was playing the PC demo...[Read More]
Bioware has finally announced the star-studded cast for their upcoming action-RPG Mass Effect 3. Will you be hearing the voices you’ve grown accustomed to over the years?
At E3 this year, BioWare Executive Producer Casey Hudson narrated a roughly 30 minute demonstration of Mass Effect 3, which is due out in March 2012, to groups of journalists and retailers. While I will go on at length about the demo let me just say that I was floored by the presentation. The theater looked like the shuttle interior from the previous game, they were running the game on a 72̸...[Read More]
It’s a new year and a new month which means that during the coming weeks we can expect some new games, new movies, new TV shows, and the returns of some favorites. Below is a list of games, movies, and shows coming out this month so you’re sure to not miss a thing.
Last month BioWare teased us all with a trailer saying that, during the 2010 Spike TV Video Game Awards, they would be announcing a new game. Many guesses were thrown around, and many pointed towards Mass Effect 3. I guessed wrong, but that is only because I haven’t played any of the games and actually am not a fan. Don’t judge me.
