Today the trailer for the latest mortal Kombat Movie has finally arrived online. Starring Power Rangers and Aquaman Star Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Supergirl’s Mehcad Brooks as Jackson “Jax” Briggs and executive produced by acclaimed filmmaker James Wan, the trailer delivers all the blood and gore you’d expect from the game.
The latest Nintendo Direct started with a bang by dropping a trailer for Super Mario Maker 2 and kept the hits coming throughout to end on an announcement trailer for a remake of Link’s Awakening. While it may not be as iconic or spine-tingling as when the Switch was announced, it was a solid and fun ride throughout. We’ve got a quick link to the archive, as well as a handy list of eve...[Read More]
It’s been 19 long years since we’ve seen a side-scrolling Mortal Kombat action game, but fans fondly remember Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero on PlayStation and Nintendo 64, and pounding enemies into pud while avoiding dangerous traps. And that’s exactly what producer Ed Boon is banking on. Hinting at a big “Mortal Kombat secret” for several weeks now, Boon finall...[Read More]
If Mortal Kombat is to be remembered for, and associated with, one thing for the rest of eternity, and one thing only, it should be this: bloody gore and incredibly violence. Okay, that’s two things. I find it easier to simply acknowledge the mistake and move on rather than edit my opening sentence. Before starting up BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend, I had never played a BlazBlue title. The way it works is you buy the pass for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15 Bucks), and it gives you future DLC at a discounted rate. Without the pass, Skarlet, Rain, Kenshi, and a yet to be announced kombatan...[Read More]
April 25th: Some people may or may not know this, but reviewers for Marooner’s Rock typically have to buy the games we review. Occasionally we might get lucky, but for most games I post about, I have to spend my hard earned money on. I like to think that by spending my money, I can help other people spend theirs more wisely. When the games are great, it makes it more than worth it. When they are b...[Read More]

The people at Guinness have a lot of free time and like to count things. Somehow they have turned this into a career. Today we look at the things they have counted in relation to Mortal Kombat, a game series which, surprise surprise, has a new installment coming out next Tuesday. God I love being topical.
