Chalk this one up under “Things we didn’t expect to see in 2018.” BANDAI NAMCO announced today that a Gunpla (that’s Gundam models to most folks) focused game is coming exclusively for the PlayStation®4 console later this year.
When I was a teen the PS2 was one of my favorite systems, a system filled with tons of games that were fairly cheaper than other games. I was also subscribed to a magazine that had a free demo disc packed in during those years. On one of those demos was a brief look at .hack//G.U. Vol. 1//Rebirth and I was pretty hooked on the basic combat and the greatswords with chainsaw blades. When it was rele...[Read More]
Digimon has always been one of my favorite shows, especially with its more elaborate stories and cool as hell art style. I truly found my love for the series in Season 3, which had a distinctively darker tone that really captured some interesting dynamics with its characters. Most are into the awesome monsters, which means a Pokemon-like RPG only makes sense. While there have been some awesome gam...[Read More]
WINNER ANNOUNCED: Congratulations to rayla! Just a few moments ago, our review for the Xbox 360 version of Namco Bandai’s Dragon Ball Z HD Collection went live, and received a respectable recommendation. Now, one lucky person has the chance to win their choice of either a Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 copy of the Dragon Ball Z HD Collection. Get your senzu beans ready for one hell of a good time...[Read More]
I’m a fan of the Dragon Ball Z franchise, ranging from the anime to the video games. There were a few video games while growing up that I thought were total crap, of course, so I crossed my fingers and hoped that the Dragon Ball Z HD Collection would end up doing well. In the Dragon Ball Z HD Collection, Namco Bandai has released updated versions of two of their classic titles: Dragon Ball Z...[Read More]
Gimmick game mechanics can be hit or miss. NeverDead received mixed reactions for its gameplay, and MindJack was destroyed by criticism. Inversion attempts to set itself apart with the use of gravity as a gameplay mechanic. Developed by Saber Interactive (known for TimeShift, Battle: Los Angeles, and for assisting with Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition) and published by Namco, Inversion is ...[Read More]
Whether you care to admit it or not, you watched Dragon Ball Z on Cartoon Network, and you LOVED IT. Who didn’t look forward to sitting down and watching episodes of power-ups that lasted so long they would make the Energizer bunny jealous? E3 is full of news, and with Namco Bandai busy announcing games and releasing screenshots, I’m here to pass them on to you. You can probably guess ...[Read More]
I enjoy my fair share of fighting games. It’s been a while since I’ve played a Tekken title, but E3 2012 has been a great vehicle for Namco Bandai’s attempt to reinvigorate my interest in the series. New screenshots have been released for an upcoming fighting title from Namco Bandai: Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Everyone knows the original, and there will definitely be a great deal o...[Read More]
Falling just short of Lord of the Rings in its race for the top of my geekdom list, Star Trek had an incredibly wonderful E3 2011 showing, and seems to be gearing up for an even better E3 2012 showing. While I’ve had to deal with depressingly disappointing news in the lead-up to the release of Star Trek, I’ve enjoyed everything else on the path. Today is, short of my discovering the ga...[Read More]
First and foremost, I am a Lord of the Rings geek. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again until the day I die. If I’m ever forced to swear an undying allegiance to a single geek focus, it would be Lord of the Rings. A close second, however, would be Star Trek. I got Lord of the Rings: War in the North last year, and it was fantastic. Next year, I get Star Trek, and from every...[Read More]
I LOVE STAR TREK. I love Star Wars, but I LOVE STAR TREK. I love Firefly, but I LOVE STAR TREK. I love Stargate, but I LOVE STAR TREK. When I discovered that the Paramount appointment my darling wife Lindsey had on her schedule for last year’s E3 was primarily for a new Star Trek game, I traded her any of my appointments that she wanted to get my ass in that chair. I can’t recall which...[Read More]
I feel like such a novice for not knowing that a sequel to Tekken Tag Tournament was being made. I guess with all of the hype over Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat, and the Street Fighter X Tekken/Tekken X Street Fighter games, things are bound to slip through. I loved Tekken Tag Tournament on PS2, so I’m really looking forward to this.
