The Metronomicon Preview

Back in April, I was introduced to a new type of game that I haven’t seen before. It wasn’t a dance game with rpg elements, and it wasn’t an rpg with dance elements. Rather, it was a beautiful culmination of the two that didn’t feel half done. I immediately latched on, and never looked back. Actually, that is a lie. Since I looked back at the day I got to play it for months...[Read More]

Erin’s PAX East 2016 Highlights

2016 marked my second attendance of PAX East, and this type of expo in general. Year two was definitely a different experience from year one, in that I spent more time exploring on my own instead of just waiting for Andrew to finish appointments. I also attended several appointments with Andrew in order to get a better feel for how to represent Marooner’s Rock when speaking with developers. Here a...[Read More]

Tiny Build Throws Its Hat into the VR Ring

You’re on stage, the band is playing, the music is fantastic… and then all the electricity blows, and the music dies. The only equipment working is the singular microphone in your hand. Now it is up to you and only you to keep the crowd entertained with only your voice in Stage Presence, the first VR title published by Tiny Build.

Gears of War 4 at PAX East 2016

If you’re like me you’re a huge fan of Gears of War series ever since the first game released on Xbox 360. Many gamers I know have yet to play the first Gears of War game until the Xbox One release. While that is fine with me I’m glad that they’ve finally had the chance to see this series and how it pleases many fans. Just a bit ago the team at The Coalition announced that ...[Read More]

PAX South 2016 Preview – Road to Ballhalla

I’ll start off by saying I love puzzle games. I also love what Tiny Build brings to the gaming world. The trailer for Road to Ballhalla made me want to play the game, which you can see below in this hands-on preview.

PAX South 2016 Preview – Western Press

Do you think you’re a quick time event master? Western Press wants to put your skills to the test. While I have fond memories of being quick on the draw in Kirby Super Star on my Super Nintendo, this puts a new twist to the showdown duel mini-game that gets the competitive juices flowing.

PAX Prime 2015: Tumblestone Hands-On Preview

On my way to an appointment, I was stopped by someone with a controller in their hand and they asked if I wanted to try out a quick puzzle game. I turned toward the monitor and the first thing that hit me was a feeling of nostalgia. I see a banner for a game named Tumblestone, but on the screen is something that looks like Tetris Attack. I made this comment out loud and I was told I was right on t...[Read More]

Adr1ft Hands-On

It was time for another appointment at PAX, but this wasn’t anything ordinary. 505 games was shuttling me off-site to a movie theater somewhere in Boston. They were actually giving me the chance to sit back, grab a bucket of popcorn, and see something new. It was time to see Adr1ft in a way I have never seen a game before, on the big screen.
