As much as I was hoping that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive would be included as a Summer of Arcade title along with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD, making Summer of Arcade 2012 one of the best downloadable events EVAR, I can at least take solace in the fact that we finally have a solid, confirmed release date for this trip to my past. If only I didn’t have to wait until AUGUST 21 to get ...[Read More]
I keep saying this, but I’m not sure it’s been sinking in to all of your zombie-food, so I’m going to say it again. I love The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. I love The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings more than Star Trek, which I love more than Star Wars, which I love more than Deadpool, which I love more than Firefly. I loved War in the North last year, and now, in the lead-...[Read More]
I’ve been playing a lot of Awesomenauts lately, recently released on XBLA and PSN. How much have I played? Let’s say I’ve ranked up from Level 1 to Level 15 in a pretty strong run. Have you been looking for a great downloadable game to kill time with? Awesomenauts is by far one of the most interesting things I’ve found lately on the Xbox Live Marketplace. I had a chance to ...[Read More]
I was going to start this piece off by talking about the impressive roll that Digital Reality was on in 2012 with titles like SkyDrift and Sine Mora, but a quick search through our published articles reminded me that SkyDrift was actually all the way back in September of last year. I find myself consistently surprised with how quickly this calendar year is passing us by. My point still stands, how...[Read More]
WINNERS HAVE BEEN CHOSEN! WilliamRLBaker, Frank Frankleton, NEO_METATRON, Aaron Stewart (Getsuga_Tensho), and JD (mysticfail) have won the XBLA codes. Keklar, thewolfkin (ramdomwolf), Jack (gxgear), Michael Garrett (garrett0024), and rann (rann78) have won the PSN codes. Congratulations to the winners, and good luck on the next contest! Hot on the heels of Rayman Origins critical success, Ubisoft ...[Read More]
Slip on your legwarmers and Jellies, because Majesco Entertainment and WayForward are going to take you back…to the 80s! Double Dragon Neon, tentatively due this summer on XBLA and PSN, will not be a simple rehash or remake of classic Double Dragon. No, this will be a most excellent love letter to Double Dragon and the 80s as a whole, to the max. Step into the shoes of Billy and Jimmy Lee as...[Read More]
Yesterday, we saw a first look at the upcoming game from Harmonix, Rock Band Blitz. Due this summer on XBLA and PSN, Rock Band Blitz is an instrument-free rhythm game, similar to, oh I don’t know, Rock Band Unplugged on PSP, or Frequency and Amplitude on PlayStation 2 (both of which were also Harmonix titles). Full of power-ups, challenges, recommendations, and more, Rock Band Blitz brings o...[Read More]
Wheels of Destruction hits PSN tomorrow for $9.99. In advance of that, another class trailer has been released. The fourth such trailer details the Soldier class. Much like choosing to play as human in most fantasy RPGs, the Soldier is referenced as a “jack of all trades,” which would make him a master of none. The Soldier is likely the most balanced of the classes available in the tit...[Read More]
With two classes left to reveal, Wheels of Destruction provides us the long-range sniping and speed of the Assassin class. Presented as a bit of a specialist class, the Assassin may not be the best defender, but it’s a great support class. Keep an eye out over the coming days/weeks for the reveals for the final two classes for Wheels of Destruction, still coming “soon” to PSN.
When a game has the word “awesome” in its title, like Awesomenauts does, it’s setting a very high expectation in its target audience. That’s like if I called myself “Chrawesome” instead of “Chris.” There would be a definite expectation of awesomeness whenever I happened to be around (which I must say, I totally live up to even without having “a...[Read More]
The Rayman franchise has seen a recent rejuvenation of legendary proportions. Rayman Origins came out swinging on both the Xbox 360 and PS Vita, in my personal experience, as one of the best platformers I’ve ever played, and the best PS Vita game I’ve had the pleasure of getting my hands on. Tied to that wonderfully fantastic game is the upcoming HD release of a 3D Rayman classic, Raym...[Read More]
