Fallout 76 is a Mess that I Enjoy for Specific Reasons

Despite the multitude of arguably offensive flaws, I am having a really good time with Fallout 76. Although, I must admit that I am a member of the game’s super specific target audience. Built on the framework established by Fallout 4, which was built on surprisingly old Creation Engine, Fallout 76 feels more like an ambitious mod or expansion than a new game. That aside, the setting of West Virgi...[Read More]

Void Bastards – Roguelike FPS – Announced By Humble Bundle

Is announcing a game on a weekend a sign of humility, or total confidence that your announcement isn’t going to be lost in the shuffle of weekend events when no one is paying attention to the news? I don’t know, but I’m betting that Humble Bundle was going with the latter option when they released the news of Void Bastards on a quiet Saturday afternoon.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Review

I have been a fan of the Call of Duty franchise for a long time. Some people relax by coloring, reading, or meditating. I relax by playing Call of Duty multiplayer games. For as long as I’ve been playing you would think I was a pro, but that’s just not true. I still manage to have a lot of fun and enjoy my sessions. Call of Duty: WWII went away from the futuristic, almost Titanfall-esque style of ...[Read More]

Strange Brigade Review

Four adventurers gear up in what promises to be a thrilling spelunking fest through ancient ruins and underground caverns, all while being mocked by a plucky British narrator. Is this another Lara Croft and the whatever of something or other? Nope, it’s the Strange Brigade!

Cuphead (Xbox One) Review

Anyone that knows me knows that I have been all about Cuphead since its debut in 2014. I grew up watching Disney, Max Fleischer, Ub Iwerks, and more. If some of those names don’t ring a bell, that is okay. You don’t have to recognize those names to understand that Cuphead’s aesthetic borrows heavily from those creative geniuses and the cartoons of the 1930s.

Quake Champions: PAX East 2017 Hands On Preview With New Character Slash!

Some of the earliest first person shooters, and even games as a whole, I remember playing in my youth were Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, and Quake. Ever since Bethesda has taken over the old iD Software licenses, they’ve been slowly bringing the classics into the modern era with Wolfenstein: The New Order and DOOM. Now, it’s Quake’s turn with Quake Champions, a mulitplayer experience that’s focusing...[Read More]

Exzeal

A sequel that isn’t afraid to be different. Triangle Service’s EXZEAL is the followup to TRIZEAL Remix, but it’s much more than a simple rehash. Choose between multiple ships and specialize in each one’s weapon system. Will you focus on good old shooting, virtuously patient shot charging, or dangerous but powerful close-range attacks? In EXZEAL, it’s your choice.
