Review: Defenders of Ardania (XBLA)

I remember quite enjoying a flash based web tower defense game years ago. I had played tower defense style games before, but none had really captured my attention or entertained me in the way Desktop Tower Defense did. Something about the design of the enemies, the open area for building mazes of damage, and the desktop background all clicked for me and gave me what remains to this day one of my f...[Read More]

Review: Dungeon Defenders (XBLA)

Etheria’s heroes have captured the Old Ones within Etheria Cores, preventing them from spreading their evil across the lands. With the kingdom at peace, the adventurers have set off to confront other dangers, leaving their younger siblings behind to guard the realm. Review: Orcs Must Die! (XBLA)

There are fantasy worlds in which orcs are noble creatures. Valiant, peaceful, and in harmony with nature, these orcs are worthy of respect and admiration. Orcs Must Die!, as you...[Read More]

Review: Rock of Ages (XBLA)

The humor and the plot are in the vein of Internet/Gaming/Fantasy/Etc. nerds, while the graphical style and animations are unabashedly reminiscent of Monty Python’s animation genius Terry Gilliam. In that way, it is not unique, because its inspirational sources can be easily and clearly ide...[Read More]

Robot Announces First Original Game, Action-Strategy “Orcs Must Die”

I like a good Tower Defense game; at least, I like it for about half an hour before I get bored sitting there just building structure after structure. If I wanted to do that, I’d have been an engineer. Why can’t I have it both ways, killing waves of baddies with my towers and killing waves of baddies with my BARE HANDS? Having just announced their first original game, the action-strate...[Read More]

Review: Plants vs. Zombies (XBLA)

For months I’ve been hearing people on Twitter and other social networking sites singing the praises of Plants vs. Zombies by PopCap Games. As a person who isn’t too into the tower defense genre, I avoided it like the plague. Up until a week and a half ago, I was convinced that PvZ was another one of those games trying to cash in on the zombie craze that’s been going on right now...[Read More]
