Earlier this month, Blizzard held their annual Blizzcon but with a twist. Instead of an in-person event, Blizzard announced BlizzConLine, a digital version of their media event. During the event, Blizzard announced Diablo 2 Resurrected and the Blizzard Arcade Collection. In addition to the two new games announced, Blizzard revealed new expansions for their top titles. Hearthstone will receive anew...[Read More]
With Summer just a day away, many in the Northern Hemisphere look to escape their home prisons and unwind. 2020 has been a wild year so far. Threats of War, Australian Fires, COVID 19, and a civil rights movement (BLM) are just four key moments in 2020. With warmer days ahead, many plan to unwind this summer whether it be by the pool or out on a lawn chair. While protocols and restrictions are sta...[Read More]
When we’d last left Kaelisse and Landralus, it was a couple of days before The Battle for Azeroth hit and shook everything up once again. Landralus had completed basic Monk training in Pandaria, and was ready for the new expansion, or so I thought. Lissy was off chasing critters to be Azeroth’s greatest pet trainer, and was far too busy to notice some minor incidents like Lady Sylvanus burning dow...[Read More]
They finally got me back. All the new things, the ease of getting a character caught up, and the fact that I miss playing MMOs all pushed me back into World of Warcraft. Reactivation was simple enough, and once the client had enough downloaded to jump into the game, I found myself staring at a very familiar character selection screen, albeit with some slightly unfamiliar names displayed. At some p...[Read More]
Six years have passed since I last set foot on the virtual soil of Azeroth. Three additional expansions have further broadened the world, and piled more lore on the never-ending battle between The Alliance and The Horde. With the seventh expansion, Battle for Azeroth, slated for release this upcoming August, I had the opportunity to sit down for a short interview with two of the current World of W...[Read More]
We’d been building up to this moment for months. We’d been so close the previous week, only to come up short in the final battle, but this time everything was going our way. Everyone was still online, Tati was on top of her healing game, Banu and our off-tank had everything on lockdown, and we the DPS team were cranking out damage like a crack UFC beatdown team. The year was 2011, and my guild was...[Read More]
Love is in the air! Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and for gamers, this can mean a time to share a thematically appropriate game with that special someone, or at least find some love with an on-screen waifu. With that in mind, here are the Top Ten Valentine’s Day game suggestions from Marooners’ Rock.
Greetings Everyone, In this week in MMO’s Tavern I talk about the upcoming patch 6.0.2 in World of Warcraft, Wildstar’s latest “State of the Game” post, and the upcoming digital expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the news.
I have great news for you all, MMO’s Tavern is back! It’s been a while but my weekly column on the biggest news in the MMO market is back and this time in video! So sit back, relax, and please excuse the derp face in the thumbnail.
Today, in continuation of our Darksiders II coverage (see part one here), I will be going over what may be the most addicting and, to me, the most appealing portion of Darksiders II: the character customization. Melding an action game with aspects of the RPG genre is not exactly a new idea. We’ve seen more and more of it over the last 5 years, to varying degrees of success, but there is still a wi...[Read More]
While I may have been off by a week or two, Mists of Pandaria will be released on 9/25/12. I had been guessing at a mid September launch. Aside from the regular and collector’s editions, Mists will launch with a digital and digital deluxe edition. This is the first time Blizzard has offered a digital deluxe edition in their Warcraft line. Here’s the official announcement:
Thankfully putting our fears of Adam’s demise last week to rest, Adam himself returned triumphantly to this week’s episode of Marooners’ Talk (the 36th of its line), titled, “In Which Rogue Steals Manfaces Instead of Mutant Powers.” Last week, we discussed the Marvel NOW! announcement and what it meant to us (very little). Between the two recordings, I got a look at t...[Read More]
