One more New Year’s celebration. That’s all gamers are going to have to wait before finally getting their hands on YIIK: A Post-Modern RPG. On January 17th, 2019, the indie Japanese-style RPG from Ysbryd Games and Ackk Studios will be available for the Nintendo Switch, Sony PlayStation®4, and PCs and Mac computers via Steam.
Back in the days of my youth, I would spend a lot of days on sites like Miniclip, Nitrome, or OneMoreLevel. It was on those sites that I first encountered the pixel art style in gaming. Before that point, I had only come across them in arcades and other such establishments. And yet, I was hooked. Perhaps my favorite game at PAX this year was My Memory of Us by Juggler Games. Taking place under Nazi occupation, the player takes the controls as a tag team little boy and girl. A little bit of Myst, a dash of System Shock, a slice of life in cryosleep on the USCSS Nostromo, and a hearty helping of The Expanse. That’s how I would describe Destination Primus Vita, the science fiction first-person mystery series being developed by Epsilon Games.
