We have about two minutes of footage from the Warner Bros. CGI adaptation of the hit 80’s cartoon that will never come to pass. And you know what? I kinda like it.
Yes, I know it’s silly. I know that Lion-O acts like an obnoxious 12 year old. I know it seems aimed at kids and not grimdark. But you know what? This is Thundercats. It’s about walking, talking cat people on another planet fighting a mummy. The show has a character named Snarf. Give it some slack. And in case anyone has forgotten, Lion-O is a 12 year old. The story is that Lion-O’s body aged while his mind didn’t. Thus, he is still a 12 year old boy in the body of a fully grown adult. It’s kind of like DC Comics’ Captain Marvel. Billy Batson has the power to turn into the adult superhero Captain Marvel. Get it?
Anyways, the clip has Lion-O fighting the lizard man Slithe. Then Lion-O uses the Sword of Omens and does his, “Thundercats HOOOOOOOO!” thing and… stabs him? I think? I dunno. It’s pretty amusing. I think it could have been a cool movie. But hey, what do I know? I’m just some asshole on his computer.
