Earlier this week, video game publisher XSEED Games unleased a new teaser trailer for its upcoming ACQUIRE developed JRPG, Akiba’s Beat, which is due out for the PlayStation 4 and Vita in the middle of May.
The new story teaser can be found below, and gives viewers a quick overview of what to expect from the spiritual successor to Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed. The game is set in Tokyo’s Akihabara district, and follows Asahi Tachibana and his companions, as they work to rid the town of anything out of sync with reality, to escape a repeating Sunday, which they are unable to escape. Players will have to wander the streets of Akiba, talking to the residents and learning more about the mysteries at hand, unlocking “Delusionscapes,” fantasy-themed dungeons, which the player and their party will have to explore.
XSEED Games will be releasing Akiba’s Beat for the PlayStation 4 and Vita, in North America, on May 17, 2017. PQube will be releasing the game in Europe, on May 19, 2017. You can learn more about the title, by visiting the newly launched official site.
Just in case you are curious, an anime adaptation of Akiba’s Trip made its debut this winter, and has been acquired by Funimation Entertainment. You can expect our review once embargo lifts!
