Among their slate of new games announced at 2017’s E3, Ubisoft introduced The Crew 2, sequel to 2015’s The Crew. Featuring a fully redesigned map of the United States, The Crew 2 builds on the experiences of the first game, while adding boats and aircraft to the mix of cars, motorcycles, and trucks.
Players will enjoy enhanced vegetation, clouds, fog, and realistic water behavior as they tear across the USA by air, land, and sea. Across the country, they will encounter four different motorsport families with their own unique culture and set of disciplines. From street racers to pros, off-roaders and freestylers, there’s sure to be challenges for everyone. Through both competitions and chance encounters, players will have the opportunity to develop their personal style, collect and customize their personal vehicle collection, and show them off.
The Crew 2‘s Motornation open world will supports solo and multiplayer competition and exploration, and features a variety of iconic American landscapes. Fly a aerobatic aircraft over the Rocky Mountains, race a powerboat down the Mississippi River, burn rubber in New York backstreets in a hypercar, or tear through the Grand Canyon on a dirtbike.
Based on screenshots, we know that The Crew 2 will feature cars from Ferrari, Ford, Maserati, Porsche, Audi, and Chevrolet. A Ducati Diavel sport-cruiser motorcycle is also available as part of The Crew Rewards Program for players of The Crew. An Extra 300 style aircraft, familiar to fans of the Red Bull Air Racing series, is also visible in one of the screenshots, while a race modified P-51 Mustang (an Unlimited Class WWII warbird modified for pylon racing) steals the air show in the announce trailer. Mustangs (of the Ford variety), Camaros, and Porche 911 GT3s all appear in screenshots for the game.
The Crew 2 is expected to be released in early 2018 for the PlayStation®4 Pro computer entertainment system, PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, Xbox One X and Windows PC. A beta program is also available for players who sign up at https://thecrewgame.com/beta
The Crew 2 is being developed by Ivory Tower, an Ubisoft studio based in Lyon France, with associate studios Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Paris, Ubisoft Shanghai, and Massive.
