Five Nights At Freddy’s Game Teased

Another Cryptic Image on Scott Cawthon's Website

Five Nights Tease

Leave it to good ‘ol Scott Cawthon to throw his followers into a tizzy with yet another cryptic image on his website that could be a hint to a new Five Nights at Freddy’s game or at the least some other project. What does this weird, cartoon style image of Freddy crawling upwards mean? An animated short perhaps? Hell if I know, but its good to see Cawthon is going to continue bringing these rather interesting horror games to players. At least maybe.

Five Nights at Freddy’s took the world by storm a few years back, backed by the screams of Youtube gamers the world over. It pushed Markiplier into extreme popularity and Mathew Patrick over at Game Theory can’t seem to get away from describing that ludicrous timeline again and again. Sure, the actual gameplay of the Five Nights games are growing a bit stale, but the hidden narrative at work has always fascinated me, especially with the addition of Sister Location and new novels.

At this point, it’s almost predictable that Cawthon will tease his next project through his website, as he often hides messages in the textures or makes clever sleuths turn up the brightness of the image for a clue. Of course with E3 in full swing, its hard to tell how long it will take for fans to find the likely hidden meaning. As of right now, there’s no word on Scott’s official Twitter page or his other social media pages. I even checked his GameJolt page and turned up with nothing.

My biggest question is what’s that fungus looking stuff growing on Freddy? The flames in the background also suggest that maybe the animatronic is crawling out of the destruction of a Fazbear location. I wonder if this image alone is enough for a new Game Theory episode? Like many things from the E3 season, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Sure, I’d love for Cawthon to just come out and tell us what he’s doing, but where’s the fun in that?
