This morning, Trion Worlds announced that their revamp of “Defiance” will hit PS4, Xbox One, and PC on July 10th! “Defiance 2050” is a free-to-play, sci-fi, open world, MMO, third-person shooter! This ought to at least satisfy some of the cravings “Mass Effect” fans have had ever since “Andromeda” flopped.
The New and The Old:
Players will be marauding around the world as Ark Hunters. These mercenaries struggle across a post-apocalyptic Earth with advanced and alien technology to survive and, hopefully, become rich. While “Defiance 2050” is holding to much of its predecessor’s standards and formulae, Trion promised that this update will take full advantage of this generation’s consoles and accommodate modern shooter players’ tastes. The same intense action, cooperative gameplay, and world events that players first fell in love with will be back better than ever!
For PC players, Trion Worlds will also launch an open beta test from June 22nd to June 25th! Most of the game’s classes and missions will be available to them. You lucky ducks get to experiment with the Assassin, Guardian, Combat Medic, and Assault classes before the rest of us even get to touch it!
The hardcore “Defiance” gamers out there with an Xbox One or PC will also be able to pre-order one of three Founder’s Packs, starting June 19th. These packs will provide classes, upgrades, extra in-game cash, and allow you to get in on the action July 6th, four days before the game becomes available to everyone else! That same day, PS4 players will gain access to these packs and with them gain immediate access as well.
