There is never a dull moment when it comes to the video game simulator genre. From original titles like SimCity which was created back in 1989, the genre has evolved and expanded to encompass a wide variety of game subcategories over time. These subcategories range from city-builders, to business management, sports management, vehicle simulation, and – one of my personal favorites – animal simulation titles. If you’re like me and love the animal simulation subcategory of games then you’re in for a treat because here comes a BEE-utiful new addition to the genre, Bee Simulator!
Coming from Varsav Game Studios, Bee Simulator is an exciting new simulation game that takes you inside the life of a bee. Players will get to explore a beautiful world – inspired by Central Park – from the perspective of a tiny insect. Along the way they will embark on tons of adventures and learn fun facts about the life of bees.
“When the first rays of sunlight rise above the horizon, the beehive slowly wakes up. Hierarchy and diligence are vital for the wellbeing of the whole swarm. So you check your wings, measure the antennae degree of deviation, take orders from the Queen, and bee-gin your first independent mission.”
The game features three diverse game modes:
- Single-player story mode. In this game mode, players will be responsible for the survival of the colony. This won’t be an easy task since there are people who want to cut down the tree that is home to the hive.
- Exploration mode. This mode allows players to freely discover a world inspired by Central Park in New York.
- Split-screen mode. This game mode can be either used for cooperation or competition. It also an additional map
Along the journey there are plenty of other activities and challenges for players to participate in. Players can challenge other bees to a race, master acrobatic dance moves, hunt for rare plants and collect pollen from them, or even use their stinger to ward off threats and protect the hive. Get ready to spread your wings, fly, and experience the world through the eyes of a bee!
Bee Simulator is set to come to PC sometime later this year with PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch releases to follow at a later date. If you’re interested in keeping up with the game, visit the official Bee Simulator website or follow the game’s Steam Page.
