Lego DC Super-Villains is less than two weeks away from release. In order to build excitement for the game’s release, Arthur Parsons, Head of Design at TT Games, took to the stage during an EGX live-stream to show off all the characters the game has to offer. This is TT Games first Lego DC game that focuses on the villains rather than the heroes. How will a world focused around villains look compared to their superhero counterparts?
During the EGX live-stream, Arthur also gave players a look at the hub open world area, showing off Apokolips, Gotham, Metropolis, and Smallville; hopefully Central City (Flash), Star City (Arrow), and The Wave Rider (Legends of Tomorrow). Lego DC Super Villains features 165 characters, some of which are henchman dressed in costumes. The most notable characters to be announced are the Joker, Lex Luthor, Harley Quinn, Zoom, Doomsday, and The Teen Titans.
Based off of the story trailer, Lego DC Super-Villains focuses on the Anti Justice League trying to save the DC universe from the Justice Syndicate who have taken the place of the Justice League upon their disappearance. Players or villains in training will have the opportunity to save the world, smash through Lego sets, and collect studs. Lego DC Super Villains is set to release on October 16th for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The special edition of Lego DC Super Villains includes an exclusive Lex Luthor mini figurine.
At the moment, only eleven of the character’s voices are known. Darkseid is voiced by Michael Ironside who has been the voice of Darkseid for the last twenty years and Sam Fisher from the Splinter Cell franchise. Lex Luthor is voiced by Clancy Brown best known for his roles in animated shows, Hank Anderson in Detroit Become Human, Mr. Krabs in SpongeBob SquarePants, Lex Luthor in DC games, and Dr. Neo Cortex in Crash Bandicoot. Mark Hamill reprises his Joker role; it will be interesting to see if Hamill also voices the Trickster once the game releases. Harley Quinn is voice by the ever so lovely and amazing Tara Strong. Tara is best known for her roles as Harlee Quinn, Raven, Twilight Sparkle, Ben Tennyson, Timmy Turner, and Juliet Starling in Lolipop Chainsaw. Additional voices are:
