Gunnar Optiks, makers of our favorite computer and gaming glasses, today announced their special edition tie-in glasses with Ubisoft’s upcoming Tom Clancy’s The Division 2.
The special edition version of Gunnar’s Intercept glasses line feature a handsome orange and black paint scheme to match the dominant color aesthetic of The Division 2. The glasses ship with a special Division 2 marked white and orange carrying case, which definitely makes them stand out from Gunnar’s usual black cases.
The big feature of the Intercepts is a Blue Light Protection Factor (BLPF) factor of 65. Blue light being the stuff that tends to screw up our sleep patterns and potentially contribute to a host of other side effects. For us gamers planning some serious Division 2 all-nighters, reducing the amount of blue light hitting our eyeballs is a definite plus.
Gunnar says that the special Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 Intercept glasses will be available starting on March 15th, but that fans of the game can be ready for launch day by pre-ordering right now on the official Gunnar Optiks website. Fear not, glasses wearers, every version of the Intercept, including the sunglasses and this special edition, can be custom ordered with your specific prescription.Gunnar and Ubisoft have been teaming up for promotions and special editions for quite a while now. Anyone who has a pair of the Ghost Recon Future Soldier glasses from back in the day probably has a pretty cool collector’s item by now.
We’ll have a full review of the Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 Intercept glasses coming up on the site in the next couple of weeks, as well as a review of one of Gunnar’s other gamer focused new offerings for 2019, the Torpedo. We’ve also previously featured the Gunnar Riot glasses, on the site, and still consider them a great buy for anyone looking to step up to a first pair of dedicated PC/Gaming glasses.
