Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II is Sony’s most anticipated game, but none of us actually know when they plan to release the upcoming sequel. Well a Peruvian online retail site, LawGamers, may have potentially spoiled the time frame for us in a recently posted (and recently taken down) promotional poster. According to the poster, The Last of Us Part II is scheduled to release in October 2019.
The leak was first discovered by Loot Gaming, and they were able to post the ad before it was taken down.
Now with all release date leaks, this needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Some leaks have been real in the past, but many have been outright false. Sony has yet to comment on the leak, so fans should not get their hopes up just yet.
With all that being said, many have speculated that The Last of Us Part II will release in 2019 since Sony announced (to much controversy) that they will not be attending E3 2019. They want to find another way to “engage the community this year. It actually makes a lot of sense that we would get The Last of Us Part II this year since the PlayStation 5 is most likely releasing in 2020. In 2013, Sony released the first Last of Us, which ended the previous console generation with a bang. It is only fitting that they do the same in 2019.
