WWE WrestleMania 35 Predictions

WWE WrestleMania 35 Predictions

WWE’s WrestleMania 35 takes place later today in Metlife Stadium. This week has been filled with a variety of wrestling events including NXT TakeOver Brooklyn, NJPW G1 Super card, and the WWE Hall of Fame. Although Wrestlemania 35 is typically known as  the grand showcase for professional wrestling, the New Japan/ ROH Supercard and NXT Brooklyn show definitely raised the Bar. At the moment, Wrestlemania 35 is scheduled to start at 5 P.M. EST and has at least 16 matches on its card. The event is currently scheduled to last at least seven hours but could go into the next morning. Right now, all ten WWE titles are scheduled to be defended but the card is yet to be finalized.

Wrestlemania 35 is being advertised as the first Wrestlemania to have a women’s match as the main event. This advertisement has left many WWE fans arguing what match should be the main event. Should the Main event be the Women’s Triple Threat, The Smackdown Championship, or The Raw championship?  After a grand showing at Elimination Chamber, Kofi Kingston has changed critics opinions and launched himself into the WWE championship picture.  Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey,  and Charlotte have elevated the women’s division to a global spotlight due to their attitude era aggression.  Finally, will Seth Rollins slay the Best Brock Lesnar to become WWE champion?

The WWE Wrestlemania pre-show is scheduled to start at 5 PM. The pre-show will feature the Andre The Giant Battle Royal, The Women’s Battle Royal, and the CruiserWeight Championship.

Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Over the last month, Braun Strowman has helped to propel the Andre the Giant Battle Royal with his feud against Saturday Night Live stars Colin Jost and Michael Che. Only a few of the competitors for the Battle Royal have been revealed including EC3, Jeff Hardy, Braun Strowman, and Shelton Benjamin. It would come as no surprise if  WWE surprised fans with a surprise appearance from Lars Sulivan, Pete Dunn, Sami Zayn, or a WWE legend. At the moment Andrade, Apollo Crews, Titus O’Niel, Tyler Breeze, Jinder Mahal, No Way Jose, Bobby Roode, Chad Gable, Lucha House Party, The B Team, Heath Slater, Rhyno, The Ascension, Ali, Shelton Benjamin, The Good Brothers, The Hardys, Heavy Machinery, and EC3 are confirmed for the match.

Winner K.O, Braun Strownman, or Bray Wyatt.

Women’s Battle Royal

The WWE Women’s Roster has been overcast by the WWE Women’s Triple Threat match. For months,  Becky Lynch and Charlotte have stolen the spotlight from their peers leaving many overlooked. The spot light was so strong on the two women that WWE did not book a match for former Women’s Champion Asuka and had her drop the title two weeks before Mania. At the moment, only Asuka, Carmella, Naomi, Lana, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Nikki Cross, Dana Brooke, Ruby Riot, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan, Mickie James, and Zelina Vega are announced for the Women’s Battle Royal.  Unlike the men’s battle Royal, the women’s looks to be smaller unless WWE has a few surprises for the Women’s Match. Picking the winner for this match is a bit difficult since none of these women really have heat going into the match.

Winner: Nikki Cross, Auska, or Lacey Evans.

Buddy Murphey (c) vs Tony Niese – Cruiser Weight championship-

The cruiserweights typically put on a great show at whatever pay per view they wrestle on. A prime example of this is Mustafa Ali, Neville, and Austin Aries. Buddy Murphey has been the Cruiserweight champion for a few months now and has continued to put on great matches at each PPV. The match should be a great back and forth brawl and although Buddy Murphey is a favorite, we could see Tony Neise get a surprise upset.

Surprise Winner: Tony Niese

The Miz vs Shane McMahon – Falls Count Anywhere match

Over the last few months, the tension between Shane Mcmahon and the Miz has increased after The Miz cost the pair the WWE Smackdown Championship to the USOS. The rivalry has become everything that WWE fans have desired with The Miz pulling off great Baby Face promos, while Shane has lived up to his McMahon Legacy. Last week on Smackdown, the Miz was challenged with facing the three members of Sanity in a 3 on 1 handicap match. The match would later be converted into a falls count anywhere match. The Miz would ultimately win the match by pinning a member of Sanity backstage. The Miz may be the crowd favorite but we could see Shane live up to his McMahon history and find a way to defeat the Miz through surprise means.

Winner Shane McMahon.

Randy Orton vs AJ Styles

Over the last month, WWE has tried to build tension between Randy Orton and AJ Styles. Both men have provided exceptional mic work however the two have had very little in-ring interaction to help build the tension between these two men. The most notable interactions between these two men was when Orton interfered in the Farewell tour match of Angle vs Styles and when Orton caught styles with an RKO while attempting to land a phenomenal Forearm. Both men are known to put on exceptional matches but WWE could bury AJ Styles to put over their former golden boy.  This match could predict who will face the WWE Smackdown Champion after Wrestlemania.

Winner: Randy Orton

Curt Hawkins and Zach Ryder vs The Revival (c.) – Raw Tag Team Championship

The Raw Tag Team championship match came rather out of the blue with WWE giving us a match we didn’t even know we wanted. At Wrestlemania 35, Curt Hawkins has the opportunity to break his 269 match losing spree. The Raw Tag Team championship hunt has lately seen The Glorious ones, Riccochet & Black, and the B Team take on the Revival. This impromptu match could see some suspenseful moments and see Long Island Ice Z help his friend break his losing ways in his hometown.

Woo Woo Woo  Zach Ryder and Hawkins win the Championship

The Usos (c.) vs Riccochet & Aleistar Black, The Bar, and Nakamura & Rusev – Smackdown Tag Team Championship

The SmackDown Tag Team Championship match feels like WWE trying to get as many of its main roster superstars on the show as possible. Many WWE fans would have been content with The Bar facing the Usos or The Usos facing Riccochet and Black, but WWE looks to put over its young NXT talent by taking down many in their way. Sadly, Riccochet may have suffered an injury during his match at NXT Takeover Brooklyn so we could see a different tag team take their place. Could team Extreme end up in the title Picture? Since their call up to the main roster Black and Riccochet have been a dominant force.

Winner: Aleistar Black and Riccochet.

Demon Finn Balor vs Bobby Lashley (c.) with Leo Rush – Intercontinental Championship

Over the last few months, Balor has been combatting the remarkable Bobby Lashley. Leo Rush previously cost Lashley the IC title in their 2 on 1 handicap match. Rush would late make up for his transgression by costing Balor the title by distracting him with the ring bell. At the grand showcase, Balor looks to regain the title by bringing out his undefeated alter ego the Demon to slay his foe.

Winner Demon King Balor

Baron Corbin vs Kurt Angle –

Since Kurt Angle has announced his retirement from the WWE, Baron Corbin has been a thorn in the backside of WWE fans. No matter what WWE has tried with Corbin the fans have not accepted it. At Wrestlemania, we do not expect Angle to face Corbin or if he does it could be a quick victory. Instead, we expect that John Cena or the Undertaker to take Corbin’s place in the match.  In Angle’s farewell match we expect Angle to take the win. Hopefully, WWE will give the fans a match that they dreamed of to allow Angle to go out in the best way possible.

Winner: Kurt Angle

Samoa Joe (C.) vs Rey Mysterio – United States Championship –

The United States championship match feels rather lackluster. Although Rey Mysterio has been putting on great matches since his return to WWE, there is very little backstory to build up this title match. The match will feature Joe being a demolisher while Rey will bring his high flying moves to the ring. Earlier this week, there was a  rumor that Mysterio injured his ankle and leg in a match vs Baron Corbin. Hopefully, this rumor will not be true or we receive another dream match instead. Samoa Joe vs R-Truth could make for a better match.

Winner: Samoa Joe

Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns

Since his return to WWE from his battle with Leukemia, Roman Reigns has looked to build momentum on the road to WrestleMania. Throwout the weeks leading up to the event, shield brother Dean Ambrose has taken a majority of the beatings that Drew McIntyre has dished out. Although many WWE fans would like to See Roman win his welcome back singles match.  With Dean potentially leaving WWE, could we see him betray his former shield brother on the way out?

Winner: Drew McIntryre

Sasha Banks & Bayley (c.) vs Beth Pheonix & Natalya, Nia Jax & Tamina Snuka, and The Iconics – WWE Women’s Championship

Since the reveal of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, WWE has attempted to build a strong women’s tag team division. This match features a wide variety of talent that could make for either a show of strength or a high flying match. Many WWE fans have dreamt that WWE Legends Trish and Lita would face the newly crowned Women’s tag team Champions. This could still be a possibility at the grand show but it is doubtful.

Winners: The Boss and Hug Connection

Triple H Vs Bautista in a No Holds Barred match

This No Holds Bar Match will be a straight-up brawl where both members will walk out of the match worse for wear. The build-up to this spectacle has been rather disappointing with Batista acting like a spoiled child and HHH feeling like a know it all adult. The only factor in this match that could provide an interesting angle is Ric Flair. Wil the Nature Boy help his ally or cause HHH to hang up his boots.

Winner: HHH.

Kofi Kingston with New Day vs Daniel Bryan  with Rowan (c.) WWE Smackdown championship

Over the last two months, Kofi Kingston has received the best push he has ever had during his time in WWE. Taking the place of an injured Mustafa Ali in Elimination Chamber, Kofi became a much-beloved crowd favorite. Although the road to WrestleMania has been tough for Kofi, many believe that he has what it will take to beat the New Daniel Byran. Last Tuesday, Vince Mcmahon did not show up on the go home episode of Smackdown which leaves many to speculate whether Vince will have a card up his sleave to screw Kofi out of the title.  Could we see the return of the Wyatt Family to help Bryan retain?

Winner: New Daniel Bryan

Brock Lesnar (c.) vs Seth Rollins – WWE Raw Championship

Since his loss to Roman Reigns and after regaining the championship at the Greatest Royal Rumble, Brock Lesnar has taken on all competitors. Brock Lesnar is currently rumored to be leaving WWE for a match in August making Wrestlemania one of the last shows he could lose the title before he departs. Over the last few weeks, Seth Rollins has had a bunch of great promos and has given valid arguments why he could overcome the Beast at the grand showcase. In the end, we could expect that Seth may have help from his shield brothers to become the new Raw WWE Champion.

Winner Seth Rollins.

Becky Lynch vs Charlotte (c.) vs Ronda Rousey (c.) – Winner takes all

The final match of the evening will have the three most prominent women in WWE face off against one another in a winner takes all triple threat match. Before this week’s episode of raw, many speculated that Becky would pin Rousey at Wrestlemania 35 to become the Raw Women’s champion and allow for the four horsewomen of WWE to reign supreme at the end of the show.  After this week’s Raw, this option may be in doubt due to the new Winner Takes All stipulation. At times, this promo has left audience members yawning but Lynch has reminded people what they loved about the Attitude Era with a persona similar to Steve Austin when taking on the Authority. We expect Lynch to win the match but could see WWE putting their golden girl above others.

Winner: Not Rousey.
