On the afternoon of June 23rd, a dream was made real for designer Ben Hickling. Ben’s game, Ex-Zodiac was successfully funded in just a few short hours, marking a successful Kickstarter campaign that is now not only funded but ready to break through stretch goals. The news came on June 24th, less than 24 hours after the Kickstarter was first announced.
With fond memories of earlier rail-shooter, particularly the very first Star Fox on the SNES, Ex-Zodiac quickly garnered plenty of attention and praise, which lead to the successful funding. Now, as the game still has three weeks left for its campaign, Ben is hoping to see Ex-Zodiac become fully realized. Ex-Zodiac is rail-shooter, featuring original characters and designs that hark back to the earliest days of 3D action, but also becomes something entirely new and original. Ex-Zodiac plans to be released on Steam, MAC, and itch.io, but many have been clamoring for a Nintendo Switch port. At the moment, a Switch port is planned but not promised, as the logistics and steps necessary to a Nintendo port can be daunting. For the time being, Ex-Zodiac is remaining on computer platforms, but the opportunity to spread to the Switch has not been ruled out.
Ex-Zodiac can now be wishlisted on Steam, with a release slated for February 2021. Pledges are still open of EX-Zodiac from now until July 23rd.
