Today, GUNNAR Optiks is announcing the launch of a new kind of gaming glasses. The Lightning Bolt 360 (LB360) combines a variety of interchangeable fit options to ensure that just about everyone can find the perfect fit in a pair of gaming/computer glasses, and even sunglasses.
We’ve covered a number of different GUNNAR products over the years here at Marooners’ Rock, but we’ve never seen anything quite like these LB360s. The glasses come with three interchangeable temple pieces, two different lens options (Amber for indoor gaming and Sun for when we leave our gaming caves and find ourselves under the hurtful glowing eye of The Accursed Daystar), and three nose bridge sizes.
With people still spending extra time inside due to lingering Coronavirus lockdowns, it’s more important than ever to make sure that our eyes are protected from the negative effects of eye strain and blue light from our omnipresent screens. When there’s still no option in some areas to even try on a new pair of glasses, having the ability to ensure a perfect fit by swapping out components is a great plan.
“GUNNAR has always been the leader in the gaming space, and they take design innovation very seriously – it’s not just about blocking blue light. After listening to feedback from the gaming community it was clear that temple pressure and headaches while wearing headsets were two big issues that needed to be addressed, and so the design idea for the LB360 was born,” said Georgina Petrie, Director of Marketing, Gaming & Brand. “But we didn’t just stop there. We wanted to deliver more than a pair of blue light gaming glasses, we wanted to deliver a solution that could address any use-case scenario by anyone that takes gaming seriously – gaming on the go, indoors and out, headset or no headset – a true elite gaming offering. We are thrilled to be finally launching the LB360 today to gamers across the globe.
The LB360 will come in three editions: GUNNAR, 6 Siege, and ESL. The complete package ships with all of the interchangeable options listed above, along with a pouch, cleaning cloth, and mini-locker carrying case to keep all of the accessories from wandering off into the dimensional portal which swallows individual socks, small LEGO pieces, and action figure accessories. The glasses are also available in prescription format. Standard LB360 packages start at $129.99 on GUNNAR.com, with single vision prescription lenses starting at $350.
