Superman & Lois Trailer Gives Us A Glimpse of the Kent Family

I’ve been following Superman & Lois since its initial announcement back in October 2019. Since then every bit of news about this new take on the blue Boy Scout has excited me in one way or another. From the casting to interviews with the cast, I’ve loved every bit of it. By far one of my favorite things had been what was essentially an audio trailer for the CWverse where series star Tyler Hoechlin recorded new audio over previous clips of our heroes’ exploits. This was a fantastic way to promote the show in the midst of a pandemic. Thankfully, with the Man of Steel’s next television outing having been filming since October, it was only a matter of time before we got to see another look at what’s to come.

Superman & Lois centers on the Man of Steel, Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) and famed journalist Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) as they return to Smallville to raise their two boys Jordan and Jonathan Kent (Alexander Garfin and Jordan Elsass, respectively) amid the pressures of battling supervillains and chasing stories. Overall, I really like what was presented here. Sure, there was no real footage per se, but at least there were a few fleeting images of the Kent boys and Clark and Lois on the farm. The visual metaphor of Superman putting the family Crest back together was incredibly evocative and represents what Superman is all about bringing people together even when things feel like they’re falling apart. I can’t wait to see what the series premiere has in store for fans when Superman & Lois finally debuts on Tuesday, February 23rd.
