Pokemon Go Guide: Xerneas Raid

After two long months, the Forces of Nature trio are finally leaving Pokemon Go raids. Throughout March and April, Trainers had the opportunity to battle against and catch the Therian and Incarnate forme forms of Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus. Starting at 10 Am local time, Pokemon Go trainers will have the opportunity to battle against and catch a new to PoGo Legendary Pokemon. Starting today, May 4th, Xerneas will be appearing in Legendary raids during the Luminous Legends X event. This Pokemon Go event will run from May 4th, 2021 to May 17th, 2021 so you will have a limited time to complete the Xerneas raid.

Luminous Legends X Event Details

  • A new Rainy Lure Module has been added to the game.
  • New Pokemon appearing in the wild – Spritzee, Swirlix, Bagon, Cottonee, Dratini, Ralts, and Goomy
  • 7 km Eggs – Gible, Cleffa, Igglypuff, Azurill, Spritzee, and Swirlix
  • During the event, Dragonair’s and Shelgon’s evolved will learn exclusive moves. Dragonite will learn the Charged move Draco Meteor. Salamence will learn the Charged move Outrage. Trainers can use a Charged TM during the event to replace Dragonite and Salamence’s Charged moves.
  • Special Field Research will grant Galarian Ponyta, Gible, Spritzee, and Swirlix
  • A Global Challenge from May 4th to May 11th will challenge trainers to catch 500 million Fairy-Type Pokemon. By completing the challenge, trainers will unlock 3x Catch XP, Pancham in Raids and unlock Shiny Galarian Ponyta
  • Participate in Xerneas raids.

Xerneas Raid Event

Going into the Xerneas raid, trainers will need to assemble a strong team of Pokemon that know either poison or steel-type moves. Below we have compiled a list of the Xerneas raid stats. Additionally, we have assembled a list of Pokemon you can use to take down the raid.

Xerneas Raid Stats

  • Xerneas is a Fairy-Type Pokemon
  • It is weak to Poison Steel-type moves
  • Xerneas’ Base HP is 246
  • Its Attack is 250 and Defense is 185
  • The base catch CP is between 2073 to 2160
  • The Boosted Catch CP is between 2591 to 2701
  • It is weather boosted by  cloudy weather
  • Xerneas’ fast moves are Tackle and Zen Headbutt
  • Its charged moves are Moon Blast, Megahorn, Giga Impact, Thunder, or Close Combat
  • Xerneas’ Raid CP is 45899
