Review: The Banner Saga (Steam via PC, Mac, Linux)

The chill of winter’s bite digs deep into your bones. The snow is thick and covered in blood. The drums of battle sound in a rhythmic pace. Looking from side to side you see your brothers in arms breathing heavily, their breath visible in the cold northern air. Enemies surround you, yet you can tell they are nervous; more so than you. With a battle cry you and your brothers rush in, shield bearers...[Read More]

Review: AVerMedia Game Capture HD II

For some time now I’ve been using AVerMedia’s latest product: Game Capture HD II, which adds a lot of cool features. Since this is the second in the series, I was excited to see what has changed since the first unit. The Game Capture HD had a lot of cool ideas and provided an interesting way to capture footage via component cables. To see one of my videos uploaded for the first unit you can click ...[Read More]

Review: Senran Kagura Burst (3DS)

When I started thinking about how I would start off my review of Senran Kagura Burst for 3DS, I tried really hard to think of a way to write it without talking about breasts. Unfortunately, trying to tell you about this game without mentioning the bountiful bosoms would be like trying to tell you about what kind of pizza I ate without talking about the toppings. This is a game that likely has more...[Read More]

Review: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (PC)

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was easily one of my favorite games of 2013. I had the pleasure of reviewing it on the Xbox 360 platform, and found myself, for the first time, truly loving a Metal Gear game. A lot of this may have been due to Platinum Games having their hands in on the game’s development, of course. If you’ve been paying any attention, I often praise Platinum Games to a...[Read More]

Review: Shin Megami Tensei IV (3DS)

For a while now I’ve been playing the game Shin Megami Tensei IV, which released on the 3DS. I can honestly say that I wasn’t sure what to expect since I’m new to the series, since the only other Shin Megami Tensei game I played was Soul Hackers. with the amount of time I’ve put into the game already I had a great time with that game, but Shin Megami Tensei IV brought me into a new world to experi...[Read More]

Review: Sanctum 2 (XBLA)

When it comes to games I’m always on the lookout for a one that may or may not kick my ass as I play it. One game I’ve been playing lately has been the game Sanctum 2, which you can find on Xbox Live and Steam. If you have ever wanted a game that was part first person shooter and tower defense, then Sanctum 2 is the game for you! I can state now this is an addicting game to play whether you’re alo...[Read More]

Review: SpeedX 3D Hyper Edition (3DS)

I love games that challenge my reaction time! I normally download games on my iPhone that are similar to SpeedX 3D and I play them on the go all the time. Now, I can enjoy a fast paced game that allows me to maneuver around a track dodging objects. The game utilizes 3D graphics to make the game unique and more compelling.

Review: Arcane Legends (Android)

I’ve said many times before on my cell phone game reviews, I’ve always enjoyed the Android OS. To me it feels very clean and provides an easy way to get around. There is always a wide selection of games and applications that can be used. That’s only if you set the device up not to drain the battery right away. Anyways, for quite sometime I’ve been playing the game Arcane Le...[Read More]

Review: Call of Juarez: Gunslinger (XBLA)

Like many kids of the 90’s, I watched western movies when I was little. I always loved the idea of being a bounty hunter! To be a good guy and go around collecting or killing people in the name of justice was always a fantasy of my childhood. Bounty hunters seemed to me like superheroes; they always had faster gun skills than the bad guys, had a higher intelligence and fought for justice. At...[Read More]

Review: Class of Heroes II (Vita)

Sony has taken an interesting track with the Vita. There are precious few new games being launched, but there is certainly a deluge of PSP titles rehashed over the past few months. They are a guilty pleasure of mine though, so I actually enjoy jumping into them, good or bad. Class of Heroes 2 is my latest foray into the back catalogue of PSP RPG’s, and may have cured me of my addiction to them.

Review: Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory (PS3)

I have covered a great many JRPG’s over the years, especially from NIS, and at first glance, Hyperdimension Neptuina Victory looks like the same old retread, and in many ways it is. The audience here is well established, but there are a great many attempts to court a more mainstream audience and prove that there are still surprises to be found in the plots of the genre. And while I give points for...[Read More]

Review: Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate (PS3)

Guilty pleasure games are the hardest ones to review. It’s mainly an issue of trying to figure out if the guilty pleasure is good enough to offset the glaring flaw. This has always been my issue with the Dead or Alive franchise. So, in this game, does it rise above its issues?
