Nintendo announced, today, that Pokemon Sun and Moon are now the “best pre-selling games in Nintendo history”. They’ve beaten out all previous entries, every Mario game, and every Smash Bros. In addition to this, they announced that the Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon Special Demo Version has also become the most downloaded demo in Nintendo 3DS eShop history. That’s astounding, considering Alpha Sapp...[Read More]
Remember the days when thousands upon thousands of people would all shout out inputs on Twitch, which were then translated into control inputs for classic Pokemon Games? I was there during some of the greatest moments of the channel, from Red’s slow decent into madness at the hands of the Helix Fossil to the birth of Lazor Gator, destroyer of Suicune. It was an exciting time for Twitch, as f...[Read More]
Alright, so tons of cool Pokemon news has popped up this past week or so. One of the more interesting pieces (that’s not a Sun & Moon spoiler at least) is the announcement of a short form mini-series that recounts highlights of adventures from each of the handheld games, known simply as Pokemon Generations. Being that the “lore” of these games are kinda sparse, the show will ...[Read More]
With another major release in the handheld catalog coming soon, Nintendo has to catch up with some sweet swag. To do this, Nintendo has announced a black “New” 3DS with the silhouettes of Solgaleo and Lunala plastered all over it. Out of all the limited edition consoles released by Nintendo, this one seems the most lackluster. Either way let’s check out this Pokemon Sun & Moo...[Read More]
Another week, another Pokemon Sun and Moon reveal. I am almost certain I have used that joke before, but it still holds true. For this week week, we get one more Alolan Variant that Youngster Joey would approve of, and we finally see what happens when a big immovable object finally opens his eyes. (No I am not talking about Brock when he is in his older years.)
It’s been just under 2 months since the initial release of Pokémon GO, but could the augmented reality game already be declining in popularity? According to Axiom Capital Management that answer is yes.
Pokémon fan games have been around for quite some time, with the first few being for the original Gameboy even. Soon after Pokémon Brown, Rom Hacks popped up in all varieties from the ambitious Liquid Crystal Version, to the downright odd design choices of Moemon. All of these games have the common ground of taking the Pokémon engine or formula and creating a whole new game with it. Pokémon Uraniu...[Read More]
Pokemon Uranium is an ambitious fan game created using the RPG Maker engine. Adding 200 new Pokemon, Uranium takes the Pokemon formula and adds a slew of minor changes. Players will explore the two regions, East and West Tandor and come across the mysterious Nuclear type Pokemon.
After a whopping one and a half million players have already downloaded the fan created game, Pokemon Uranium, it still doesn’t surprise me that the download was removed by the game’s creators. Nintendo has a knack for shutting down the truly impressive fan projects, usually when they are at their peak of popularity, which is strange considering Pokemon Uranium has been in development ...[Read More]
Pokemon is arguably one of the best portable games Nintendo has ever produced. From the sprawling lands of Gold and Silver to the beautiful sprite work in Black and White to the reinventing of the series in X and Y, there is almost always a good reason to pick up a Pokemon game. Even with a ton of official releases, there still remains an itch to catch and battle in between main games. With Sun an...[Read More]
It has only been a couple weeks since the last update about new Pokemon and new features of Pokemon Sun and Moon. So naturally we are overdue for more stuffs. Today Nintendo and Gamefreak released brand new information that includes new Pokemon, new forms, and new information on the bad guys you will face in the Alola region.
If this is what Niantic has been working on, I will take back every bad thing I have said about them. Well maybe not everything, but most everything. While still little information has been given the screen shots speak for everyone. It seems that a handful of users are testing even more features coming to Pokemon GO in the near future. Could this be the fix for those of us trying to find Pokemon...[Read More]
