Fall Guys Takes the PS+ Crown, Gets 2nd Season

Arguing that Fall Guys is not a success would be idiotic. Since its reveal at E3 2019, Fall Guys has piqued gamers’ curiosity around the globe. At Pax East 2020, we had the opportunity to preview Mediatonic & Devolver‘s Fall Guys; in addition, we previewed Devlolver’s upcoming title Disc Room. Devolver has become known for publishing great indie titles such as Heave Ho, Carrion, Enter the Gungeon, and Shadow Warrior. At the end of July, PlayStation announced that Fall Guys and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2: Campaign Remastered would be the PlayStation Plus titles for August 2020. Since then, the little title has grown into a global phenomenon.

On Wednesday afternoon, PlayStation announced the PlayStation Plus titles for September 2020; we will be covering those later today in the September 2020 Games with Gold & PlayStation + article. After announcing the September PS+ offer, PlayStation announced that Fall Guys is “the most downloaded PS Plus game of all time on a global basis.” For those who have yet to play the game sweeping the globe, it is a fun Battle Royale. At the moment, the game is only available on the PlayStation 4 and Steam; however, there are plans for the game to be released on other platforms in the near future.

Season 2

Last night at Gamescom 2020, Mediatonic announced that Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout’s Season 2 is currently in development. During their presentation, Mediatonic revealed new medieval-themed minigames and costumes. In the preview, you can see a giant castle that will be used for tail tag and a new block-pushing game where the player has to climb over castle walls. In addition, a new dragon, knight, Viking, wizard, and witch costumes were revealed. Season 2 is scheduled to be released sometime in October of 2020. This release of content ensures that the game will remain fresh. We wish the best for Mediatonic smash game; it is easy to understand why Fall Guys secured the PS+ Crown.
